Elevated NK cells- medication and guidance

Hi ladies.
Long story cut short- referred to recurrent miscarriage unit due to MMC. Initially put on prednisone and progesterone due to finding out I have high NK cells however miscarried twice on them. Introduced hydroxychloroquine but it made me feel horrendous - unwell and the worst mood swings (as well as a rash all over my face). So now a bit stuck what to do. I also struggle to fall pregnant, so taking around 12 months to fall.
Contemplating going private with CRP Clinic to get further testings that NHS can’t offer, and get further guidance. Keep hearing about intrilipid and medication to help ovulation.
Anyone have any similar experiences, feel very alone and confused :/
Sorry to rant, it’s been a tricky journey xx

I have no advice but I hope you get some answers - I am in a similar situation myself after 3 MMC and I definitely think there’s something more to it than what I currently know. How were your NK cells detected?

Hello to both. I’m so sorry you are going through this.

I went to CRP and think they are amazing. They will make you retest everything which is expensive - it is all expensive so you need to take a deep breath on that side. And you end up doing a lot of travelling if you’re not near Epsom. But they are so good - caring and supportive as well as thorough. And the care once you are pregnant is amazing as well.

I was originally at ARGC who have a lot of focus on the immune system (I was just there for IVF) and didn’t really believe in it as the evidence is very poor etc. But I saw so many women having success after multiple miscarriages and then when I miscarried a healthy (tested) embryo I re evaluated my own journey. By this point I was at CRGH who do immunes but more limited so I stayed there for IVF and went to CRP for immunes. It was the pred that I wanted to add in as CRGH did some immune stuff but not all.

we were on our very last embryo so there was only one shot and thankfully it worked and we got our son.

@peepsypopsthere are blood tests and I think maybe an internal test too - can’t quite remember how they did that one but that tests immune cells within the actual uterus or cervix. With CRP it is just bloods as they don’t believe the uterine test is worth doing as it changes all the time.
