Queries around Letrozole/Clomid

Hi all, I've been trying for my second for 9 months now and have had an MC at 9 weeks during that time. I have a 2 year old DS conceived naturally (I know how lucky we are!!)
We are now going for private fertility testing and my main concern is my cycle length which is between 30 and 54 days. I've previously had PCOS ruled out. This means that we are just getting less "chances" to conceive. I have conceived 3 times (I also had a chemical before DS) so I am ovulating, but my query is do you think I could be prescribed clomid or letrozole so that I ovulate every 28 days? Or is this really only prescribed for women who don't ovulate on their own at all? I should also mention that I'm 35, which I am very conscious of.
If anyone has any positive stories to add that would be great!
I know it's only a helpful route too if DH's sperm test is OK, he's a bit younger (31) so hoping it will be.
Thanks in advance

Hello, I’m not an expert but to give my experience - like you I’m trying for my second, I’m 36 and it’s been about 18 months. I’ve been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries (different to PCOS apparently) but my cycles are generally 28ish days. We’ve been seen by the NHS and they believe I am ovulating most cycles and it’s unexplained infertility, but they’ve prescribed me Letrozole to see if that helps - currently on my first cycle of that.

The process may be different depending where you are and what the private testing includes but hopefully you’ll be offered an ultrasound to check your ovaries etc, and maybe a blood test to see if you’re ovulating. Depending on that they may well suggest clomid/letrozole before suggesting further treatment. Do you have an appointment soon? Good luck!

Thank you so much for responding! Also that's brilliant it's been prescribed by NHS, my understanding was that they didn't really do anything if you already had a child, so I've booked a private appointment for first week of February.
Wishing you luck!

I've been referred to try letrozole to even though I'm pretty sure I ovulate regularly. Did the doctors tell you how it might help??

With my first it took nearly two years and the blood tests taken then were inconclusive, so they prescribed letrozole (I luckily conceived the cycle before I started taking them). To be honest this time it seems there’s nothing else they can suggest but since I have polycystic ovaries it’s worth a try. Waiting for my results on the day 21 blood test from cycle 1 on letrozole this time (which wasn’t successful unfortunately) to see if I ovulated.
