TWW - how to cope??

Hey all, just wondering if anyone else is currently in the TWW I'm 1dpo according to my premom app. This is my 4th cycle TTC for my first and in recent months I've become increasingly obsessed with testing early and then dealing with the upset/disappointment so I'd really like to be easier on myself this time and not be so obsessive. However I've had 2 miscarriages in the past (2019&2024 whilst on combined pill) so I think this weighs heavily on me.
I know it's easier said than done but I'm just looking to see if anyone has any tips / things they do to stop overthinking and symptom spotting so much?

Thank you in advance xx

I came off mumsnet and completely stopped tracking. Tested 1x day before AF and got a BFP 😁- this may not be much help if you're looking to stay on mumsnet...

This was the first cycle of actually enjoying time with my husband. It helped that he was off work (Christmas period) and was super chilled/no work stress so everything was just 'lovely' if that makes sense.

Edit: I have a very addictive personality, hence my name 'this months fad'.. so for me, it really is an 'all or nothing approach', the nothing being no mumsnet, no tracking etc.

Thank you that's honestly really good to hear, congratulations😀!!

I've been considering the no mumsnet approach and think I'll give it a go. I keep telling myself to just not think about it and carry on as normal as if we're not trying but always end up reading posts and overly consuming this type of content and end up becoming obsessed myself. Appreciate your reply x

It's easier said than done, but I try not to test at all, I do my bbt which means I pretty know when AF is coming because my temp drops, I use that to track instead of testing, I would find looking at negative tests waaay too hard.
Don't know if that helps at all, I think the tww is just rubbish anyway, even if you dont track you've still got a bit of an idea when things are happening x

I was at the same stage as you when I went cold turkey - cycle 4. My husband had such a positive mindset of 'if it happens, it'll happen - let's just enjoy our lives/time together' and he was totally right.

For the first couple of cycles I was obsessing, consuming on mumsnet, just thinking about it all nonstop. I did track my BBT for the first 3 cycles which was great because I understood when my day of ovulation would likely be (CD11) so it was good to 'aim' for this date lol.

I did have a TTC break between cycles as well (husbands illness) which I also thought was great as well because it gave me a chance to understand what my PMS symptoms are like (basically exactly the same as early pregnancy symptoms) - this really helped because I was then less focused on the symptoms side of things because they were unreliable xx

EDIT: just wanted to add (sorry this has turned long) - coming off mumsnet also helped massively because I was consuming myself with a lot of negative content particularly around 'age' and women being worried about being able to conceive as an 'older mum'... Honestly, it had never entered my mind that at age 38 I am considered and 'advanced age'.. seeing this content kind knocked me off centre if that makes sense so I avoided it like the plague.

Thank you for your reply, I'm relatively new to all of this so never tracked bbt before I'll look into this maybe rather than obsessively testing. It's so weird as I'd been on the pill for 6 years it's taking a lot for me to get used to what certain body cues mean so I've struggled to separate PMS symptoms etc. xx
