Hi all,

I am so confused with my bloodwork from August. My TSH had elevated at 4.5, along with LH - 19 and FSH - 4, Progestrone 70. The LH and FSH had really only been bought up now due to a catch up with my doctor.

Due to my TSH being elevated in August, I made changes to my diet, I cut out coffee and eat a balanced diet with mainly whole foods. I also supplemented with Iron, D35000, Omega, and Zinc. Doing this bought my TSH to 3.1 (managed to get a retest in October) I spoke to my doctor today and she said it’s considered as normal and wouldn’t put me on medication just yet, the consultant I am working with is also happy with the number.

In terms of TTC, I hadn’t had luck in conceiving and my AMH is 0.56. I haven’t seen a single positive test. I also did an ultrasound last month in my fertile window, the sonographer said my lining was thick and ready. She couldn’t see any issues, lumps or bumps.

The doctor mentioned potential PCOS, from the LH and FSH test back in Aug, and I haven’t been able to retest yet. Does anyone have any knowledge on the above, is it likely that I have PCOS? My periods are regular overall, 28 days and usually last over 4 days. I don’t have severe acne, a pimple here and there.

I am just trying to make sense of it all. Any advice would be so helpful.

Depends on which day of your cycle you took the blood test. Ratio should be 1:1 days 1-5 (day 1 is start of your period) but then there will be an LH surge before you ovulate (this is what the ovulation strips look for) whilst your FsH stays down - so it’s difficult to interpret without knowing where in the cycle you were.
if you are going to repeat the test, aim to book your bloods for when your period is due.

did they also test for testosterone/shbg and prolactin?
