IVF and starting a new job

Hello everyone,
I've spent the last 7.5 years in the same job, principally because I've spent the last few years doing IVF (on and off) and I've had so much flexibility and autonomy in my job that it made no sense to leave. However, I've had to take voluntary redundancy at the end of the year and in January I start a new role. I do not wish to hugely delay continuing with IVF as I'm well into my 40s now. Has anyone been in this position and how did you navigate it? To make things more difficult, my clinic is in London and I now live out in Oxfordshire, hence making appointments harder due to the travel. I am contemplating speaking to the People team once I start the role and being completely honest about my fertility journey. If they're not supportive, maybe it won't be the company for me. I feel pretty strongly about this.
Thank you.

I started a new job and did 3 rounds of IVF when there. I think the best thing is to be honest, have a look at policies as a lot of companies now have a fertility leave policy. I was able to take 10 days as IVF leave. My manager was super supportive. I came in after my appointments wherever possible and as you know once you've done a few rounds you know how it works in terms of appointments and how much time off you need. Wishing you all the best x

@jigglypuff7722 thanks for sharing your experience. Could I ask how long you had been in your new job before you started your ivf?

Literally a month 😅 I started may/June and did another round in July!

I joined my company in June this year already pregnant, sadly lost our baby girl at 22 weeks in September. We will be starting IVF early in the new year as we need PGT. I'm being pretty open with my company about everything and they are very understanding. There is a fertility treatment time off policy (5 paid days) but only once you've been working there for a year so unfortunately I'm not eligible but they're very flexible with working hours etc.

@Moosey898 thanks for sharing and so sorry for your loss. Best of luck with your ivf.
