Whether to delay ttc plans for cruise

Originally me and DH talked about ttc when I turn 37 and DD would be 20 months old. We like idea of a spring born 2nd baby (would be earliest March due date) and basically 2.5 year age gap. However, family have booked a cruise surprise for 3 months later after planned to ttc and now questioning if should delay ttc due to potential sickness etc. On the other hand also wonder if we should get on with things. Especially given my age and took me 18 months to ttc first time.
Just wondered thoughts of ladies on here if were in my position?

I wouldn’t delay anyway but especially not if your first took 18 months to conceive and you’re already almost two years older than you were then. My first took 12 months to conceive and the second 13 months. If you’d have conceived easily first time or were a few years younger then I’d say wait but at your age I really wouldn’t, good luck.

Only you and your DH can decide but I would prioritise TTC. It might take a while or not happen at all but the longer you leave it, the less likely it is you’ll be successful. If you feel the time is right financially, emotionally and physically, go for it. I’d prefer to get pregnant, choose to miss the cruise and have a new addition to the family. Or you might still be able to go on the cruise and carry on trying.

I am actually facing a similar query, my family has a cruise planned in August next year, and we are continuing to TTC due to a long and complex journey (and I'm not getting any younger!). In case you weren't aware, you can't go on most cruises after 24 weeks pregnant, and you can't take babies under 6 months (again, this is a very general statement and may not be true of all cruise lines, just the ones I know of).
Regarding sickness, this would be the least of my worries as you can get medication that can really help (I've had 5 pregnancies, no living children, but have struggled with nausea and sickness in all of them and have been on medication).

TTC would be more important to me than any holiday

I don't think anyone can answer this for you really. It took 18mths to conceive our first, then first month for the second, so you can’t predict really. I was in my 20’s for both though.
I’d probably crack on with TTC - you can go on a holiday anytime, but you might just be too late for a second baby. My Peri symptoms started at 38…

I feel awful saying this but at 37 I would probably prioritise TTC over a holiday. If you were 10 years younger I’d say it’s fine to wait a few months I just wouldn’t in your position xx
