If anyone’s been referred and has first appt, what happened?
Did you have any tests/investigations on the day, or was there a delay for more investigations?
How long until you started some form of treatment?

thanks ☺️

We were weighed, talked through what would happen by nurses, blood pressure, told we would need icsi then onto next stage of waiting list

Not me personally but attended with my friend and as PP says- not a lot done really. Medical history questions, height/weight, told what tests would initially be needed and that an appointment would be sent for them with then another appointment 8 weeks after tests done to discuss results & next steps, then onto waiting list.

My friend needs IVF and is now 16 months into the waiting list, has got her appointment through for October to get started so will be 18 month wait. She has got chatting to some other women in the same boat and of them all 18 months is the soonest any are starting IVF on the NHS, so lots end up just going privately as they aren’t prepared to keep waiting.

hi! when I had mine it was basically a really thorough questionnaire for both of us, and then because everything was normal with bloods and swabs run by the GP I was told the next step was a pelvic ultrasound scan and a HSG and I got given an appt for the pelvic scan on the day (for the next week) and was told to ring up on the first day of next period to book the HSG. I was also weighed to make sure BMI was ok! Think that was about it, was about 15 mins long! I then got a letter in the post for a follow up appt about 2 months later to discuss the results of the two procedures!
good luck!

Wow 18 months is a long wait for IVF!

I’m hoping a HSG will be suggested because I’ve had bloods and ultrasound and those all seem ok

Just to update in case anyone reads this trying to find out the same.

In my appt the consultant asked is generally what has been going on, how long we’ve been trying, what tests we’ve had and the results, and about our general health and my cycles. He deduced from my blood test results, cycle knowledge and recent ultrasound that it is likely ovulation needs a boost as everything else looks ok, so prescribed 6 cycles of letrozole on the spot. I was surprised as was expecting more tests and am happy to be trying something straight away! I’ll be having a telephone review and testing progesterone to see if it’s working 🤞🏻
