What else can we do? 💔😭

Hello ladies!
I just really want some advise on what else we can do, should be doing, should be taking, shouldn’t be taking. We have had 3 chemicals in the last 16 months of trying.
I have a 26-28 day cycle, ovulate around 12-14, I spot 1-2 days before my period, I have had transvaginal scan which showed no issues and 21 day progesterone test which was 23.4. My periods are minimally painful and not relatively heavy. I don’t smoke, I rarely drink and I am a ‘healthy normal’ 30 year old female with no diagnosis of endometriosis or pcos.
I take a prenatal, omega 3, CoQ10, vitamin c, vitamin d3, vitamin b complex, vitamin b12, magnesium b6 and also baby aspirin from 3dpo. My partner takes a prenatal, vitamin c, omega 3 and CoQ10 - he is awaiting his sperm analysis results but from what I have read up on, with taking these supplements and making lifestyle improvements whatever his sperm shows should be improved with this help..
What else can we do and take?
We have been referred to gynaecology but the waiting list is +6 months currently so we’re just hoping and baby dancing every month 😭✨

No smoking/drinking/drugs, both normal weight for your height - not over or under?

No drugs, we both drink very rarely, my partner vapes which ideally he shouldn’t but I guess he can’t give up everything he enjoys in life. We are both normal weight and within our bmi 😔

Ovulation tracker? Can't think of anything else, it sounds as if you have been unlucky.

InMyHealthyEra · 01/08/2025 18:49

Given how many steps you’ve taken and treats you’ve given up, it sounds likely one or both of you has an issue. Your husband vaping is highly unlikely to make a difference, drinking is highly unlikely to make a different. Realistically thousands of women drink regularly, smoke and even take illegal drugs, aren’t the ideal weight or even healthy and don’t take any prenatal vitamins yet still get pregnant, often without trying.

Can you not pay privately for tests on yourself?
Hopefully your husband’s sperm analysis will give some answers.

If there is an issue with his sperm I've read that most sperm issues can be improved with lifestyle changes. So no vaping, no caffeine, no hot tubs or baths, loose boxers only as well as everything else he is already doing. Which I know sounds like a slog but could be worth looking into if the sperm results aren't what you want them to be.

Thank you, these are all things we’ve looked into and thought about, but your input doesn’t go unappreciated🥹 we are in the process of buying and selling our house so I’m sure the stress isn’t helping - however once we’re in the new house and have spare finances going private is definitely our next option. We track each month so we know we’re doing it right but it’s just not happening for us, which is the hardest thing.
It is heartbreaking knowing there’s no obvious cause and like you said above, people who don’t do all of these things we are all doing desperately manage to get pregnant 🤷🏼‍♀️
One day it’ll happen I’m sure. Thank you ✨

I take 75mg from 3dpo already.. thank you for your help, was you advised daily or just post ovulation? I’ll definitely give it a go! 🤞🏼

@ccxo couldn't read and run. Loose boxers, vitamins c and zinc can all help with the sperm count. Also try not to worry, easier said than done x good luck x

Hello @ccxo :) id suggest the following if you aren’t already doing them:
track BBT to confirm ovulation - you can buy a cheap thermometer and track it vaginally for most accurate results.
re-do your progesterone at 7DPO again, I think 23 is a little low (I think NHS likes it at 30 to confirm ovulation and support pregnancy)

your chemicals could indicate low progesterone, you could try and get progesterone pessaries prescribed privately but NHS might prescribe it now you’ve have 3 losses.

It sounds like you’re doing everything right lifestyle wise.

My partner took ‘Impryl’ and his counts improved in all areas.

if you have the money, go private. You’ll get answers and solutions much quicker but I appreciate not everyone can. It’s a very hard journey. Lots of love xx

Thank you for your reply! ☺️ we track monthly both OPKs, BBT and also CM but it’s something we’ll keep doing.
I have requested a GP appointment for further blood tests including TSH, FSH and AMH so I will ask for a second 21 day test too and see if it’s consistently on the lower side.. I have previously asked about progesterone suppositories but I was told this only something a fertility or gynaecologist can prescribe and we’re waiting an appointment which is currently a 6+ month wait 😔
Thank you again though, it’s really appreciated x

I took it daily and throughout pregnancy. Both said that 75mg was previous advice and 150mg is now recommended- this was 2 years ago now though not sure if it has changed. Fingers crossed for you x

Hopeandfaith1990 · 02/08/2025 11:47

Those are good tests to request.

now that you’ve had 3 miscarriages, you could be referred to the recurrent miscarriage unit at your NHS hospital. They will almost certainly be able to prescribe you progesterone. Have you registered your pregnancies with your local EPU? I got referred much quicker than way than GP. GPs can do very little for fertility / recurrent miscarriage in my experience, unfortunately.

You can also test for blood-clotting disorders, natural killer cells etc. I would try for a recurrent miscarriage referral above fertility to try and get the medication asap. Good luck xx

Bohoboo · 02/08/2025 16:34

Just something to look out for. I would just check that you aren't overdosing on b vitamins if you take a b complex, prenatal, B12 and b6
