Isn't it wild that sometimes women get pregnant by accident?! Then there's those of us turning into reproductive hormone specialists and data analysts and still not having any luck. Not diminishing the fact that accidental pregnancy can be a nightmare of course.

Hi @NatalieSF I'm a bit ahead at 4DPO. How long is your luteal phase usually? I'm due AF between 21 and 24 July but thinking positively at the moment!

About 12-14 days, AF due on the 25th. I'll probably test about 9-10dpo as I'm impatient lol

I'm frustrated with the heat atm... too damn hot for BD'ing 😂

I feel like I'm on fire, I'm wondering if that's due to me being due to ovulate tomorrow (if Flo is right) as well?

overwork · 13/07/2025 23:34

@hollyhocks2 that was me, last time. It took months for us to decide to go ahead with the pregnancy and I don’t know that I was ever particularly excited about any of it. If that hadn’t happened, we’d have happily never had children, and now here we are actively wanting another. It’s only been one month of trying and I’m already over the hassle of trying to get pregnant, another ‘accident’ would be lovely Grin

peanutForever · 14/07/2025 06:40

@EmPeEfthat described ovulation pain to me lovely, good luck!

@NatalieSF theyre expensive but worth it i feel. Myself, my neighbour and a colleague have taken them and weve all gotten pregnant in 2/3 cycles max

I say this to my husband all the time, to fall pregnant by accident (if you're not wanting to) is statistically very unlucky! Whereas here's us planning absolutely everything to perfection and still not getting there

I started them about 3 days ago. I do not like how they taste 🤣 I have to shot it, I tried them in water but it was worse lol

I got pregnant accidentally with my loss we BD once in the month and was pregnant. Yet here I am trying and it's not happened yet 🤣

EmPeEf · 14/07/2025 16:05

First day temp has gone above cover line so hopefully that means OV and a normal cycle length 🤞🏻 Funny how that really is a small mercy when trying month after month.

peanutForever · 14/07/2025 16:49

@NatalieSFyeah i couldnt have it mixed, im on the pregnant ones now tho and am finding every excuse not to have them but they taste much better than preconception ones..also found the mens tasted better too lol

hollyhocks2 · 14/07/2025 17:35

So encouraging @EmPeEf I know how you feel. So do you think you're 1DPO or 2DPO today? I'm 5DPO.

It would be really nice for me to have a rare drink on Friday as it's a very special occasion but at 9DPO I don't think I will. In theory I think a few drinks when TTC is fine but I'm opting out these days, to avoid regret. Slightly annoying timing though, would have loved to raise a glass this weekend!

SureLook · 14/07/2025 19:57

I got my appointment with the RCM today - March 2026!!! They said it was a 3-6 month waiting list but that makes it 9 months!! I didn't think it would be that long. I thought Christmas/early New Year at the latest. Hopefully I'll be successfully pregnant before then or I'll get a cancellation 🫠

ForGiddyDreamer · 14/07/2025 20:02

@SureLook is that the referral for the fertility hubs in Ireland? That's an awfully long wait 😑Hopefully you get a cancellation or, even better (as you say), BFP before then. I see my doctor on Friday afternoon and am going to ask about how private options work in Ireland.

FarAwayBird · 14/07/2025 20:05

@SureLook I was going to ask what RCM was but I think @ForGiddyDreamer answered that!

Woah - that is a long wait but hopefully just having the referral in is enough for nature to do its thing! 🤞 Also just good to get on the list if it takes that long.

Sorry I’ve been a bit absent this week. On CD7 so nothing really happening over here.

SureLook · 14/07/2025 20:07

@ForGiddyDreamer I was referred to the Leaf Clinic in the Coombe Hospital in Dublin. I know! And I thought 3-6 months was bad.
Let me know what your GP says. I'm gonna ring the RCM and see if going privately with them is an option. I meant to ask when I was in getting the tablets but I forgot.

@FarAwayBird sorry, it's actually RMC - recurrent miscarriage clinic. Yeah, you never know. Hopefully I'll be one of those people who discover they're pregnant right before the appointment 🤞🏻

I’m not sure enough to pick between the two at the moment. But you’re 5! Exciting. Hoping you have some positive symptoms over the next few days that mean implantation is happening. I felt a very definite stab on day 6 with my first.

DorsetGirl89 · 15/07/2025 08:59

Hey guys, feeling super confused this cycle! I may be 3DPO, may not have ovulated yet. I had a small peak of 0.65 on CD11 (but I don't really know when my CD1 was, because very early chemical confused things, I went from implantation spotting to heavier spotting to counting CD1 as first red, but I'm not sure that's accurate, if we go from first day of negative test the spike would've been CD14 which is more in line with last month's spike, but in the past I have seemed to get a spike on CD17, so I wonder if I might still spike and I have 2 peaks this month, which is apparently possible 🤔) I don't know if that small peak would've been enough to ovulate, I normally get peak around 0.8-1.0, so I don't know when I should book my 7 day progesterone test or do my pdg tests 🫣 I had lots of EWCM on CD 11/12 so I guess that might be a sign it was enough of a surge for ovulation? Has anyone else had ovulation with such a low surge that might be able to advise? I haven't reliably got good BBT data because I was camping, so the faff of finding my thermometer in the van the morning after probably caused the BBT spike I saw, and it's been a bit disorganised since we've been home and had to use a different thermometer, so I'm not sure if my BBT is actually higher or just bad testing. Any experience/ advice welcome. 🙏🏻❤️

hollyhocks2 · 15/07/2025 10:21

Hi @DorsetGirl89 that is really really tricky! Can I just check are you talking about LH tests when you say spike? Can you post a pic? Or are you just doing BBT? I don't have experience of this exact scenario but I know your cycle could be messed up by the chemical or it could be totally typical despite the chemical.

I would say that re booking your progesterone test, all you can do is go by the data you have. Day 1 as red bleeding sounds right to me, and if there was a peak then fair enough to assume that is (or could be) ov, so count 7 days from there. I guess the blood test will give them a starting point to investigate further if any concerns come up. If your progesterone is low then of course it may just be that you hadn't ovulated yet, and I guess you'd need to try again the next cycle and compare. But maybe you'll have got the right day and levels will be normal and they can rule that out. I'm having mine tested this cycle too so it will be good to compare notes when we get our results.

amey44 · 15/07/2025 13:14

I remember why I don’t do these now it’s so draining ugh! I don’t understand why my tests keep reaching 0.5 then going down to 0.2 instead of going up:/ I can tell i’ve not ovulated yet though as I wake up with sore boobs the day after just so so annoying ugh I hope it’s at least before CD 20

@amey44 they've been consistently a bit higher since yesterday though! Maybe your peak is more gradual and sustained? Mine are so low until suddenly it ramps up to a peak and by the next day it's back down low. I have a good feeling for you for tomorrow. Def BD today if you can!

I hope so i’ll test again later and see my result! We’ve been bd literally everyday so far but i’m gonna have to miss a few nights soon so hopefully ov before then!

Iris2024 · 15/07/2025 14:46

How are we all ladies?

CD10 here for me so officially in fertile window (again 🤣) I’ve lost all hope at the moment and just going through the motions. We go away on the 26th to Greece and that’s when AF is due 🙈🙄🙄

EmPeEf · 15/07/2025 16:11

@DorsetGirl89 I feel your frustration. My cycle after a chemical was confusing as well, and I had no idea if I OV. Tests picked up a tiny rise but my BBT did go up after around the CD I would have expected. I only had a few days of very light bleeding for my chemical and just took the first day as CD1.

The only advice I can give is to try and let go of the tracking this month and do it old school; just have lots of sex and hope for the best. Otherwise you can drive yourself crazy trying to work out how many dpo you are. Best of luck though.

ForGiddyDreamer · 15/07/2025 16:25

@DorsetGirl89 I looked back through my app for how my cycle went after the chemical. The difference might be that I had the chemical the month following the mc so my cycle was all over the place. But the month following the chemical I had my first positive ov test (CB Static smiley) on CD 15. I usually get that around CD 11-13 so it was a few days later for me. My cycle that month was also longer than usual at 31 days (it was 35 following the mc and my usual is 27 days). I think the advice above is good: just bd as much as you can & hopefully you catch it.

@Iris2024 Ah Greece sounds lovely! At least you have an exciting getaway to focus on! I am cd 5 today. My app predicts my fertile window to start from Saturday (cd9) and ovulation maybe on the 23rd (next wednesday). TBH this month we plan to just bd on the 3 days around ovulation. The past two months we've bd every day of the fertile window & it's becoming not very fun. We'll fool around obvs other times this month but the pressure on those days is starting to getting to the two of us.

EmPeEf · 15/07/2025 16:33

Now I’m going to be a total hypocrite and say how relieved I am that Premom and FF both added a cover line for this month after taking my temp this morning 😅 looks like OV was confirmed and I don’t have to worry about it happening whilst my partner is away. No idea how many dpo I am but going to try and hold off testing till next Sunday.

Thank you @hollyhocks2 I've attached picture of the surge, so far I haven't had another rise, so I'm going to assume I may have ovulated CD12 until I have reason to think otherwise, so will go for tests on CD19 and if I do get anothe speak I'll also my doc to order more bloods for 7 days after that! 🙏🏻❤️
