Success after molar pregnancy?

I was wondering if anyone has information or advice regarding molar pregnancies and its impact on future pregnancies?

I had a missed miscarriage diagnosed at my 12 week scan. I then had a MVA 10 days later to remove it. The molar was not picked up during the ultrasound. The MVA took a long time and I bled quite heavily during it. At the end of the procedure my uterus didn't contract down on its own. My doctor ended up giving me a syntometrine injection because of this. After the MVA the doctor told me the procedure was quite complex as there was a lot of pregnancy tissue that was quite thick. She then proceeded to tell me she thought it was a molar pregnancy and has sent my tissue for testing. This was 3 weeks ago, I don't yet have the test results.

I understand I will need monitoring until my hcg is zero. However my concern is the impact this will have on future pregnancies? I’ve read a molar pregnancy can weaken the uterine wall which I’m concerned happened to me hence why my uterus did not contract down on its own? I’ve read this can raise the risk of placenta accreta and uterine rupture?

I have one child born by c section 5 years ago and would really like another. No issues during that pregnancy or birth (I was 29 when I gave birth and I am now nearly 35).

I feel quite down about the whole thing. The doctor never gave me much information after she told me and I’m now just anxiously waiting for the test results. I’ve been searching google like crazy and it’s just upset me more.

I’m sorry you’re going through this OP. I had a partial molar pregnancy last year. Do they think yours is partial, ie did you see a baby?
I did get pregnant again recently (I did miscarry but they think is due to a blood clot disorder, so nothing to do with the molar) the most recent pregnancy was genetically normal & my body was doing all the right things with the sac etc, so it’s unfortunate for me it didn’t work out. So basically just trying to say molar pregnancies are so rare, and chances are tiny of it ever happening again

Thanks for your reply. I think it may be a partial. There was no mention of it during my ultrasound. I was told I measured 7 weeks 3 days so I think there was a baby. I was quite shocked when the doctor told me. I have ocd and health anxiety so it’s sent me spiralling. I’m sorry to hear about your recent miscarriage. It’s really difficult mentally and physically. I hope you’re doing ok.
