TTC, implantation symptoms at 5DPO?

Hi all, brand new to this forum (or any tbh) so apologies if I don't know what I'm doing!

I've just come off 3 years of treatment for Leukaemia which put me into remission, I finished the treatment 3 months ago and the hope was I'd stay in remission and we'd try and conceive later this year, however we unexpectedly sort of 'in the moment' tried this month, and a few days later I got a call to say my cancer levels are a little bit up! I'm now in a race against the cancer to try and conceive and carry a pregnancy (and hopefully breastfeed) before they may have to start me back on treatment, as I won't be able to be pregnant on treatment and if they restart it, it'll be years again, and given my partner's age, this really is our only shot 😬🫣. I obviously now really hope that this month we managed to conceive already, but never expected I'd find myself in such an urgent situation, so it's a bit overwhelming!

I'm currently 5DPO (LH peak CD 14 and it's currently CD 20) today I've been getting strong back of head headaches and twinges lower abdomen, I'm gassy and tired and can't tolerate anything sugary. Earlier I felt a strong pulling twinge in the lower right abdomen which was quite quick but unmissable. None of these symptoms are normal for me, especially that strong twinge, but isn't 5DPO too early for implantation?

By the way, we'd had sex a few days before ovulation, so the lads would've already been waiting at the door when she hatched 😆 anyone going through anything similar, or anyone who had/ is having symptoms 5DPO please share!

Hi, so sorry about your cancer numbers! I really hope this is the month for you. A positive LH usually means that ovulation is about 24-36 hours away, not that you are currently ovulating, so if your positive LH test was CD14 and it’s now CD20 you’re probably more like 3/4DPO.
it’s so hard not to symptom spot but I would think anything you’re feeling at this stage is more likely to be from progesterone than anything else. I’m 7DPO today, so I’m in the same boat and trying my hardest not to symptom spot 🙈 fingers crossed for you that this is your month 🤞

MauraLabingi · 22/06/2025 09:11

I agree you are probably 5dpo. Positive LH on day 14 so likely O on CD15, so CD16 was 1dpo and CD20 is 5dpo.
However I think that it's very unlikely you are feeling anything related to implantation, which takes place between 6 and 12dpo, not on 5dpo. More likely you are homing in on twinges you usually ignore. Sorry! It doesn't mean you won't get pregnant this cycle of course, just that it's unlikely you can tell yet.

Im so sorry you have been through all that. Im so glad your currently in remission so hopefully that means you can get in a healthy pregnancy before you possibly have to start treatment again, which I hope you dont have too.
I think you might be a little too early to feel implantation but stranger things have happened and there are some woman getting very light positive tests at 7dpo which means implantation would have had to have started around 5dpo or very early early stages of 6dpo. Fingers xd you get a positive test this month . Please keep us updated when you start testing, id be curious to know of you did feel implantation that early.

Ooops yes scratch my comment on DPO, totally wrong, your dates would be correct! Keep us posted, would be so lovely if you got your BFP

Thank you! My ovulation app said I was 5dpo yesterday and 6dpo today, but that was assuming I'd ovulated in the 24 hours after my peak and I know it can be 24-48 hours, so I may not have. If I ovulated closer to 48 hours after then it would've been pretty unlikely I've conceived unless he had some stubborn swimmers hanging about 😆 Yeah it's really hard not to symptom spot! It wasn't even our intention to try so soon it just sort of happened in the moment and we thought, oh well if it happens sooner then so be it, but then when I got the news about the cancer levels I was like, oh crap, I need to be pregnant NOW! 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ I don't know how my cancer will progress, it's not a very aggressive kind, and it will not be passed on to my baby or interfere with the pregnancy, so I may still have a few more months of safely trying and still get me through a pregnancy before it's gets to a point of needing treatment, OR it could rise rapidly and I need treatment next month, it's impossible to know, so although I'm hoping for a miracle baby, I know that the universal will do what it will so I'm just sitting tight and hoping for the best! 🤞🏻 It's so lovely to be able to chat to others in the same boat, thanks for replying to my post, wishing you all the best in your wait! Are you on the June 2025 TTC thread too? ❤️

Yeah I think you're all right it was a bit early to feel anything at 5dpo, but there was a part of me doing the maths and thinking, hold on, I was only testing once a day, so if my ACTUAL peak was 12 hours earlier and the peak the graph shows wasn't the actual peak, and then I ovulated 12 hours after my actual peak (apparently it can be 12-48 hours after peak?!) then I would've actually ovulated on CD 14 and have been 6dpo yesterday (implantation day?)

Yes... I am fully aware that is some hilarious mental gymnastics and I am laughing at myself regularly about it 😆 only time will tell, so I know all this is theoretically pointless but I tried not thinking about it at all and that was about as useful as a chocolate teapot, so instead I'm inflicting myself on you lot 😆❤️

I think you may be right, I have mild endometriosis and think I probably twinge quite a bit and have learnt to ignore it, but now suddenly I'm on hyper alert and every twinge is because I MUST be pregnant! 😆🤦🏻‍♀️ Also I'm now 6dpo with no symptoms today (apart from I suddenly can't eat pineapple, my mouth is on fire?! That's pretty weird, but not sure it's a sign of pregnancy, but crazy TTC brain has made me wonder 🧐😆) so I'm trying to not get my hopes up and just praying that if not this cycle then soon ❤️🤞🏻🙏🏻

Hey, just wanted to update this thread in case anyone followed it or finds it in future...

I was pregnant, but had a very early chemical. Symptoms continued and had first faint line at 10DPO, then stronger at 11DPO, then negative 12DPO onwards 😔 I was pretty sure I knew by 5DPO though, so I'm not sure if they really were symptoms, psychological, physiological or what. I'm pretty sensitive to anything going on with me. I'm now potentially 4DPO again, or I haven't ovulated yet this cycle(not sure if early LH peak was sufficient for OV or if I'm going to get a 2nd peak and OV late) so here goes the fun TWW again! (Or longer?) Not expecting anyone to reply, I just know it's frustrating when you stumble across a thread that was left unresolved and you want to know outcome 😆
