hi everyone,

my usual cycle is 34 days but after my loss in feb I’ve had two 47 day cycles!! I’ve started reflexology and Accupuncture in the hopes I can try to return to a normal cycle. Does anyone have any tips or advice please?

thanks in advance ♥️

Stress, sleep quality and diet can alter your cycle.

Make time for your mental health, do things you enjoy and are relaxing such as gardening, listening to music or whatever else you enjoy doing. Have a hot bath.

Practice daily meditation and mindfulness.

Regular exercise, specifically strength training is great for reducing stress, sleeping better and balancing hormones.

Eat whole foods, reduce alcohol and caffeine. Eat lots of veggies and fruit.

I'm sorry for your loss ❤️

Have you ever been checked / considered for pcos ?

Sorry to hear of your loss - we know that pain

I’ve had tests and scans which did not show pcos but I know that doesn’t always mean you don’t have it. I had an ultrasound last month and ovaries were all clear but again I know this isn’t proof of not having pcos. My cycles have always been around 34 ish days sometimes longer but I’ve always managed to conceive very quickly so it’s never really been an issue until now I think I’m somewhat desperate. I believe I am ovulating every time just quite late on. I am hoping this month my cycles abit shorter but we will see.

Great tips. I am doing most of these things except for the sleep part, my sleep is terrible lately! I am hoping this month is abit better in that it’s shorter and more normal like but we will see ❤️

Have you had all the below checked

Thyroid
Ca125
Prolactin
Vit d
Feretin
B12
Crp

Blood clotting speed
.?

worldwidetravel2017 · 22/05/2025 09:31

Additionally - i dunno if youve ever used hertility health

They check amh / ovarian reserve
Which NHS dont

They also thoroughly assess if pcos

I really recommend them

150 gbp well spent

Nhs gp can check your shbg and free androgen

In pcos patients

Shbg often low

Free androgen often high

Also do any of your immediate fam have auto immune conditions ?

And have you had being celiac ruled out recently ?

CatsWhiskerz · 22/05/2025 09:35

Have a read up on Agnus Castus as this can help. Some pre pregnancy vitamins contain it but I took it alone in water, drops by a company called A Vogel - good luck!

Yes, just checked my app and they’re on there. Doctor never flagged anything up so I’m presuming all ok? I’ll go back if I keep having issues . I think it may be due to all the hormonal changes since February but if it persists I’ll go back. thank you .

The thing is - NHS ranges are wide

Stuff my gp marked ok - ivf consultant said not
Etc.

Ultimately you want your feretin at least 80
( eggs and often having 8 dried apricots a day helps )

You want your b12 at least 300

Vit d around 100

I take 1000 iu vit d daily

Hiya - I am in a similar situation where I have long cycles but have been checked for PCOS and they say I don't have it (and my hormone levels like testosterone are normal (in fact a bit low)). Mine have been between 31-54 days. What's helped mine a bit is inositol - I take morning and evening and they are now usually around 35 days (which is on the shorter side for me).
I'm just going into TTC for #2 and I know it's so frustrating when you are waiting for ovulation! One thing I think the inositol has done as well is helps with really good EWCM so at least you know when you're ovulating - I don't bother with tests.
P.s. I should also mention I conceived my DS (now 20 months) on what would have been a 42 day cycle so it's still very possible! I also had a chemical the month before so def been ovulating regularly etc.

I have noticed inositol is in my b complex I just started taking. It’s 250mg of myo inositol a day. How much do you take if you don’t mind me asking? Yes my cycles have always been slightly longer and I’ve conceived four times very quickly. I’m just finding it so frustrating waiting now and also I’m 37 next month so slightly worrying I’m running out of time!

I actually take 4000mg, so 2000mg in morning (2 tablets) and same in evening. These are the ones I use:
Free Soul Myo-Inositol Ultra Supplement | 4,000mg Myo-Inositol, 200ug Folate, 100ug Chromium Plus 10,000mg Maca for Women | Supplements for Women | Vegan & Gluten-Free | 120 Tablets : Amazon.co.uk: Health & Personal Care

Regarding conceiving quickly but miscarrying

The miscarrying could be abnornal embryo due to age

Im 38 - we spent 3500 gbp on pgta testing

4 of my 6 embryos / blaatocysts were abnormal

Embrolygist says due to my age..

If you qualify for NHS ivf - go 4 it

If u can afford private ivf - my advice is to go for it

worldwidetravel2017 · 22/05/2025 11:34

I took myo inostol

But ultimately metformin for pcos too

4 types of pcos - definitely wise to ask gp to test your shbg - easy blood test
