Need tracking/ovulation advice

Hi all,

To start, just a few things to note is I suffer with adenomyosis (diagnosed in 2020), I have also been TTC since December.

I bought some ovulation tests at the start of the week and I’ve been testing daily. My cycle is all over the place at the moment. This period was 2.5 weeks long. I’ve had an ultrasound and my drs don’t seem to think this would effect fertility but for the first time since beginning to TTC I feel extremely deflated and upset and frustrated.

Can someone who regularly tracks ovulation help me understand what is going on? On the first day my period ended I took an ovulation test for the first time. The test line was dark but not as dark as the control line so negative. Since then, every day it’s been getting lighter and lighter until today which is barely even visible. What is happening? I thought it would go from light to dark gradually after a period - gearing up for ovulation?

Starting to wonder if I will even ovulate at all/whether I have been :(

I will continue to test everyday but if anyone has any words of wisdom/experience in this I am all ears.

TIA

i Find tracking my ovulation super confusing as well so I use Premom and scan every test which then tells me how high it is. It took a few months to find my groove as I had just come off the pill so my periods weren’t true periods yet, your body needs time to adjust. I also have endo which makes it tricky but plodding on. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along but just wanted you to know you’re not alone with finding it all overwhelming and hopefully the app will help 💐

My ovulation tests are super light, sometimes nearly invisible. All of a sudden with 24 hours they’re peak! It’s normal to go from nothing to dark so try not to worry xx

Mine are exactly the same - they are all the same, barely visible and then boom peak, slightly lighter the day after and then back to barely visible ! Have you tried tracking your bbt alongside the ovulation tests ?

Avid tracker here @MyPeppyLimeBear - some people have much higher LH levels at baseline, some people have multiple high days before a peak, some have a very clear very very dark peak whilst others have what registers as "low" but counts as a peak for them. Ignore entirely that you're likely to peak/ovulate around cycle day 14 - me, I range anywhere from CD 12 to CD 17. Your luteal phase generally tends to stay the same - mines 15 days, so dependent when I peak I can work out what day I'll be due on (important to note if your cycle varies by a few days each month!).
Key pointers, try test at roughly the same time every day, in the same place (lighting conditions) after the same length wait (I.e. 5 mins / 8 mins etc - tests can show darker when dryer). Some people swear by 2nd morning urine, I always do 1st thing as its easier for me.
Me personally, I'm a low LH with a very rapid short lived peak - within about 24 hours of LH rising its peaked and come back down so I usually test 3 x daily when it's started getting darker so I don't miss it. Sometimes I peak overnight and miss it but I can work it out by elevated levels day before / morning after.
I find the premom app works well for me.
Good luck, it can take some getting used to but once you've tracked for a few cycles you'll figure out what your norm is. No ones is the same!
