HPV + and TTC

My smear came back HPV + 3rd year in a row now, which I know by profession I will be referred to colposcopy for an examination, which is a protocol procedure.

knowledge I do not know is, if I am found to have abnormal cells & need to have a biopsy … can this affect my fertility or chances of carrying?

I have read higher chances of miscarriage but as TTC it has made me upset worrying about the unknown. 😓

Hi OP, I've been through this myself and know the worry. I was back and forth to colposcopy for 4 years with multiple biopsies along the way. I've carried a healthy pregnancy to term.
Biopsies don't have any impact on fertility, cervical length or ability to carry to term.

If biopsies are abnormal to a higher degree, and you need a Lletz procedure, one Lletz also is generally low risk. The problem occurs if you need multiple Lletz procedures, as that can shorten and weaken the cervix.

But by the sounds of your post that is a long way off, and more than likely you just have a stubborn HPV that is taking time to clear.
In my experience, colposcopy nurses are some of the most compassionate and kind healthcare professionals I've ever met, so please discuss your concerns with them and hopefully that can put your mind at ease. Best of luck.
