Low progesterone lrvels

Hello ladies.
I had my CD21 bloods done which show my progesterone levels were 23.4nmol/L which the GP stated ‘this is consistent with ovulation’ however, doing a lot of research I believe this is on the lower end of ‘normal’ and indicative of potentially low progesterone and I also have a shorter luteal phase of around 11 days.
I have had 1 MC and 2 chemicals and have been told pregestrone needs to be above 30 to sustain a healthy pregnancy so I wonder if this is the cause.
Could anybody please offer some advise moving forward and what my next steps are as the GP isn’t overly interested?

Thank you 🥹🤞🏼✨

Hi - I am TTC my first and I have also had my day 21 bloods done. My progesterone came back at 21 nmol. My consultant prescribed me progesterone to take as soon as I receive a positive test to help support my pregnancy. I also started taking vitex this month (in my TWW so can’t say how helpful it’s been yet but would imagine it would take a couple of months to work anyway). Vitex is well known for supporting progesterone. Hope this helps ☺️

I'm in a similar situation. I also have a shorter luteal phase (around 5/6 days) and after tracking cycles and having bloods done, I found my progesterone wasn’t staying high enough in the second half of my cycle.

Even though your GP says 23.4 nmol/L confirms ovulation (and technically it does), I’ve read the same research — ideally for luteal phase support or sustaining a pregnancy, you want to see levels above 30 nmol/L, especially if you’ve had previous losses.

In my case, I’ve been prescribed progesterone (Utrogestan) to take after ovulation during the luteal phase, to support implantation and lengthen my luteal phase slightly. It’s definitely worth asking your GP or a fertility specialist about this route - I just asked mine and they said no problem.

Hi @tiutinkerbellI have now been prescribed progesterone to take in my luteal phase following chemical pregnancies. My LP is usually 11 days. How long do you take the pessaries for if you don’t mind me asking?

I take mine until day 14 of my LP - then I test and if negative, I stop. Period usually comes 2-3 days after.

@tiutinkerbellthanks. How many cycles have you been using it now and how do you find it/what are the side effects?

I'm on my third cycle now. I find it not so fun, I struggle to sleep with it as I get night sweats so am constantly boiling. Other than that, not really too much to report. Does it's job in extending my LP so at least I know it's working.
