Am I having a chemical pregnancy?

Hello everyone.

I tested Tuesday and yesterday, both times the test came back with a thin blue line. If I was right in thinking they are positives, I would have been about 4 weeks pregnant. However yesterday I started bleeding lightly and today I'm having what looks like a full blown period bleed with some very light cramping.

Is it likely I'm having a chemical pregnancy? Or has anyone ever bled a period like bleed in pregnancy but ended up having a baby?

I've heard implantation bleeding or spotting is normal but this feels too heavy. The bleeding has come 4-7 days later than my usual period schedule. We've been TTC for a while and all the tests before were negative, so this is a bit devastating.

Thank you everyone and wishing you all the best of luck in your own TTC journeys 🤞🙏

Honestly I wouldn’t trust those clear blue tests. I have had results like the ones you have posted and not been pregnant. I can’t believe they are allowed to sell them to be honest. Trying to conceive is so tough. Your periods can be all over the place, stress can really affect it (late, early, lighter, heavier etc.). Once I was nearly 60 days late!

I wish you all the luck. I have found not testing until at least 3 days after my period is due and using a digital test much more effective and less stress inducing!

Can you test again today? That’s the only way to know really, if it’s a chemical it’ll be lighter or non existent lines. I’m going through a chemical currently, although had over a week of positives that got darker initially then got fainter.

I agree I wouldn’t trust those lines to be positive in the first place. Unfortunately there’s no way to know now if they were evap lines or not. In future I would advise not to use those tests. Find tests that use pink dye not blue or just use a digital. If you are pregnant a digital will show from the day you’re due on your period if not a day or so early if you use one with a sensitivity of 10miu.

Thank you everyone for your advice... It's frustrating as I bought some pink and digital tests from Boots, saw the bad reviews and returned them, and ironically went for Clear Blue hoping they would be more reliable.

It's a bad product feature if evaporation lines are easy to appear and look like positive lines.

@Muddysocks1I'm so sorry to hear about your chemical - I wish you all the very best with everything and that you get some very good luck soon.
