Positive at 19dpo?

Hello all - wondering if anyone could offer any advice.

I’m currently pregnant with my first ever pregnancy and going by my LMP (6th of February) should be 6 weeks 3 days. I have a feeling this isn’t the case however as I didn’t test positive until 19dpo - going off 14 days from the start of the cycle and even then it was an extremely faint line. I got conclusive negatives at 15 and 16dpo and was only retesting because AF still hadn’t appeared. My first strong positives were at 21dpo where a digital said 1-2 weeks, which changed to 2-3 at the equivalent of 23dpo.

I’m really nervous as I know this isn’t usual timing. I have my first early scan booked for what should be 8 weeks but I think it’s likely I’ll measure behind what I should be. Just looking to see if anyone had anything similar? Could this be because I ovulated late?

Congrats OP!
I wasn’t tracking ovulation when I got pregnant but I was one week late on my normal 28 days cycle before I tested positive.
My 12 week scan pushed my due date back by 5 days (early scans didn’t) but my LO arrived on my original due date

Thank you for your reply! Is it quite usual for dates to be adjusted following scans? I’m just worried I go into the 8 week scan and I’ll be measuring behind and then have to wait 5 weeks for my 12 week scan to find out if all is ok 😖

I think it’s pretty normal yes as it depends alot on when implantation happens.
my 2nd LO her dates were moved forward x3, I had two early private scans as it was Christmas and then my NHS one wasn’t until 14 weeks….so until the 12 week scan dates are not 100% anyway

What are your usual cycle length. I used to have a longer cycle which meant my ovulation date happened 2 weeks before my period was due. For me that was CD21. My due date was changed during the dating scan to reflect this.

If I hadn't been tracking ovulation and assumed it was 14 days after my period started then I wouldn't have gotten my first positive test, albeit faint, until 18dpo. It was actually 11dpo corrected for late ovulation.

Thanks for your reply! It can be anywhere from 33 days to 39 days - I didn’t realise this would affect it!

@MTB122 oh well then that definitely accounts for the later positive. Mine were 35 days and it meant I ovulated at CD21, confirmed by ovulation tests. You more than likely ovulated at week later than the typical 14 days so correcting for that your first faint positive was probably around 12dpo. Perfectly healthy time for a faint positive 😃

Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐
