Hello ladies 😊

I'm TTC after 2 recent miscarriages (October and December 2024). First was an early miscarriage second a silent one. I have had two successful pregnancies with no issues conceiving before this. Feeling a bit low as I thought we may have conceived this month but I believe my period has come! We've only been trying since September so I know it's really not been very long. I've started taking folic acid and Iron, and trying my best to be stress free as I know this can sometimes affect things.

I was hoping to get some basic advice on how to track my ovulation properly and how it all works as I've never really done it properly before 😊 I have some ovulation strips and plan to start when this period ends hopefully in a few days...

With the ovulation strips, is it best to try the days when the second line is dark? I've read that somewhere but honestly don't have a clue!

Would love some tips.

Thank you xx

With lh strips, some people test near when they are due to ovulate but if you're not 100% I'd recommend testing once a day as soon as your period slows, then go to twice a day around day 14 onward to help isolate when your surge happens, or when the test line starts to get darker.
Theoretically you can dtd when the test line is getting darker, as you should be close to peaking (when the line is as darker or darker than the control) however if you're like me you literally go from a squinty barely there line to a positive opk and then straight on to ovulation and a drop in colour on the strips.
Hope this helps!

Hey!

Thanks for that😊 that's really helpful. I think I'll deffo start a day after my period slows like you said as the length of my cycles have changed quite a bit the last few months so just want to be as accurate as I can!

I track BBT and cervical mucus, and input it into the app Fertility Friend. You need a BBT thermometer, and take your temp each morning when you wake up. I don’t wake up the same time every day but it still shows the trends. I also use LH strips, I start testing once or twice a day from around CD10. I enter all three (LH, BBT and cervical mucus) into fertility friend which helps. CM and LH help tell you when ovulation is coming, and BBT (rise in temperature) confirms it’s happened. I recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility which explains it all
