Hi all my 17 year old is 9 days late, in an active sexual relationship and awaiting the coil to be fitted, but they got caught in the moment over christmas and didnt use a condom, shes never been this late in her life, all pg tests are neg, including clear blue digital, she has no cramps, usually gets a headache, and bad wind beforehand, is her usual self, we last tested yesterday, shall we retest in a few days if she doesnt arrive? Never had this myself so cant compare!

The GP fitting the coil won’t proceed unless proven not pregnant.
May even ask to wait for period to arrive, additionally to negative tests just to completely rule pregnancy out… before fitting the coil.

Hi OP, does she usually have a regular 28ish day cycle? In the title it says 5 days but then you wrote 9 days...
Presumably if she is 9 days late and had a regular 28 day cycle with ovulation around day 14, she'd have ovulated around 24th Dec.
It would be very unusual and highly unlikely to be going on 23DPO and still be showing negative if she was actually pregnant.
Lets say she has a short luteal phase and ovulates late in her cycle and ovulated around 30th Jan, again that would make today 17DPO and a test would be positive by now.
If she is only 5 days late and has a regular cycle ovulating around 28th Dec, that would make her around 19DPO and a test would be positive by now.
