Ovulation tracking help - menopause??

Last period 21st October I bought ovulation tests to track it, after my next period...I've not had one so been tracking randomly (pics attached). I have done a pregnancy test as well just in case, but it was negative, although I am having some cramping the last day or so...

I'm 40, would like to try for another. Any advice other than asking for a blood test at the doctor so at least I know if it's menopause or not.

It depends on what’s normal for you. Have you had any other peri or menopause symptoms over the last few years?

Ovulation tests are tricky since you need to use them several times a day to catch an LH surge and water intake can affect them (my ‘peak’ is around 0.8) but no period means you’ve not ovulated in that time. Definitely worth going to the doctors but they like to ‘wait and see’ which you won’t want to do if you want another child (I’d tell them you’ve been trying for longer than you have to get them to have more urgency). Maybe invest in some private tests if you can - ‘Hertility’ home test looks relatively inexpensive. Also look at supplements that support hormones and help regulate cycles. I’ve noticed an improvement in my cycles since taking some (coq10, vitamin e). The book ‘It starts with the egg’ is great for learning about how we can influence our reproductive health.

Yes, they've been irregular since I had my DD 3 years ago...but never this bad...it would be 3 weeks then 6 and then 3 weeks and then 6 weeks again etc...

I mentioned it when I had my smear last year and they said "sometimes it just takes a while to get back to normal".

I'm also 40.

Definitely talk to your GP and get the tests done, then at least you’ll know where you are.
