Hi,
we’ve literally just started our journey Ttc. We are using the flo app to advise on the best times to try. Have any of you found this a good way to do it?

Following our first attempt I have have light spotting 2 days later (never had post s*x
spotting before). Is this normal?

@Misty642 hi:) its a total minefield when first starting to TTC and the apps are tempting to use as gospel but really the only way to know when your ovulating is to track. Your apps rely on your tracking for them to become accurate as they go off the ‘typical’ (but really not typical as bodies aren’t machines!) 28 day cycle meaning that the app automatically thinking your fertile period is around CD14.

OPK’s can help you pinpoint your fertile days but it can cause stress, so completely up to you if this is something you want to do… but it doesn’t actually tell you if you have ovulated the only way that will tell you that is a scan or BBT (again, this can be very stressful if you don’t wake up the same time everyday or wake up a lot during the night).

But easier and less expensive/stressful ways to help you predict ovulation are ovulation pains (mild cramps around mid cycle) and egg white cervical mucus (clear, stretchy cervical mucus) are signs that your body is ovulating or at least getting ready to do so.

I’m not sure about the post sex spotting- what CD are you? Some people spot during ovulation so if it works out around then, then that’s a possibility.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it!

As for your question I'm on CD10. I've never spotted any that point before, I'll keep an eye on it though Smile

@Misty642 a bit early for ovulation typically but definitely keep an eye on it, it could be just because you’re noticing things more now
you’re trying. But see how you go:)
