Hi @Minniemad0110 sorry to hear of your loss.
BBT won't indicate to you when you are about to ovulate, it can only confirm ovulation has already happened. The way to confirm it via BBT is to look for a temp rise that is consistent. Once your temp has been elevated for three days or more, Fertility Friend will select the ovulation date as the day before the temp rise. I've attached my chart, which shows this. I'm only 4DPO, but I was tracking using basic OPK strips and also digitals, so I'm satisfied the ovulation date is as accurate as it can be without an ultrasound (the only way to really confirm it). By using the OPKs, they gave me an indication that I was about to ovulate, so we knew when to DTD, then confirmed with BBT as expected.
It's also a good idea, for your own records and help predicting in future to log other symptoms such as any cramping, cervical mucus, skin changes, bloating, etc. From the last year tracking, I now know that I begin to get fertile cervical mucus three days before ovulation, I will then see a peak (and I have to monitor the cervical mucus because my ovulation date can shift anywhere between day 9 and day 16), then BBT will confirm ovulation 1-2 days later.
Unfortunately, it's not always exact, but it can help when looking back to help anticipate it in future. When I conceived my son, who we sadly lost at 19 weeks, I ovulated on CD9, but my temp didn't rise for 3 days afterwards (which can be normal). So Fertility Friend thought I'd ovulated 3 days later than I actually had. I know it was wrong because I got a positive on what Fertility Friend thought was 6DPO (I was actually 9DPO).
Hope this helps! :)
