Three chemical pregnancy's

Kerry282 · 13/12/2024 19:36

So I've had two weeks ago what would have been my 3rd chemical pregnancy within 5 months.

First cycle ttc resulted in loss at 5w5d but tests went lighter from 5w.
Cycle immediately after resulted in extremely early loss at 4w3d.
Finally most recent loss had one full normal cycle in between and resulted in loss at 4w.

Each time I have tested faintly positive on multiple tests and a digital.
I've experience what i believe is implantation bleeding? about a week after ovulation date which was confirmed with clear blue digital tests and general strips.

I'm probably in one of the darkest places I've even been and feel so alone despite having an extremely supportive husband and family. I've taken time off work to process because it's happened all so quickly together and hadn't with the previous two.

I've booked in with private fertility next month to have basic fertility testing and hycosy because I had read about recurrent chemical and blocked tubes but again I don't know how likely this is?

My GP was helpful in running lots of bloods, confirmed day 21 ovulation of 55 which apparently confirms ovulation. All bloods came back normal (thyroid, full blood count, white cells as well as she ran inflammation markers).

Unfortunately my health board do not include chemical pregnancies as miscarriage so I'm really at a loss.

Any advice would be great or success

I've had multiple chemical pregnancies. After the 3rd or 4th one I asked my GP to refer me. Unfortunately that took a few months before I had my initial appointment with the consultant. I had various tests but nothing showed any problems.
I'm on the last part now where they have asked me to try Cyclogest pessaries. I got my positive test last week but unfortunately even though I used the Cyclogest I had the same thing happen. I know though that for many women Cyclogest does work. I may try using it earlier in my cycle next month and see if that helps. Also many women get given low dose aspirin (to make blood thinner) so I have asked my clinic if they can prescribe me this for my next cycle.

How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 39 and I have two kids already.

I know it's such an awful thing to go through and every time it has happened to me, I keep thinking surely it won't happen again...

Try and take a little bit of a break as well if you can because sometimes the body just needs a bit of a break too to reset everything.

I'm still bleeding from this current chemical pregnancy & it's awful going through it. Just trying my best to keep busy and not think about it.

Hi,

Aw bless sorry to hear about your losses it's honestly the worst feeling because it's almost there but not quite. I'm still really unsure if it means they are implanting or not either 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I'm glad they are actively giving you cyclogest pessaries, I've heard positive about aspirin and progesterone. I am trying the aspirin just because my gp said it can't hurt this cycle but I'm not actually under anyone official. I really doubt I'll get anywhere this cycle because I'm an absolute stress head.

The recurrent miscarriage clinic wouldn't accept my referral even after 3, I've actually been referred to the infertility clinic but I'm assuming when I have my initial appointment I can discuss all of this. And with going private I will hopefully have more evidence to go with it's just so difficult when you don't know if your body is constantly failing,

I'm 32, no kids yet for me or my husband and pretty inpatient because I was naive in entering ttc thinking it would be smooth.

I hope all goes well on your next cycle my fingers really are crossed

Aw I'm sorry it's happened to you also and you're experiencing it currently, it's a different kind of upset than anything I've felt and quite isolating because everyone else is still full of hope.

I think after this cycle because I've made the error of trying again then I need a good few cycles of not putting pressure on and at least I'll have some assessments done.

I do try to keep busy but sometimes the Reddit posts send me down a deep rabbit hole spiral of negativity and I try to remember that the people who have had their positive endings arnt frantically searching the internet looking for hope.

32 is not a bad age I think. 🤞 it works out for you. I had my daughter when I was 31 & my son when I was 34.
Hopefully once you have your appointments they will be able to identify what the issue is and you can carry on ttc with a positive result.

Yeah I know what you mean...I keep frantically searching online to find answers of what I could do differently or positove stories even. It probably makes me feel more stressed so I really need to stop doing that.

One of my friends was saying to me to cut back on the sugar & fried food and see if that helps. He said his friend who is 45 did this (gym goer) and then it helped him & his wife get pregnant. So now I am trying to eat a bit healthier to see if that makes any difference.

Sorry this happening to you. Are the pregnancies confirmed by blood test or at home tests

If i can relieve your mind a little - i had two of these and then sadly I had at birth a stillbirth and neonatal death (twins) in the last two years. I lost 4 babies and burried my two baby sons this time last year

I was so freaked despite all my losses being terrible bad luck according to the medical professionals, I demanded fertility tests because I was numb and after my twin sons deaths , I was on month 7 of trying. All my tests were perfect and I had the hycosy.

Now my tubes were perfect they said, but even with perfect tubes they flush out all the natural gunk that builds up and there's a good track record Of pregnancy happening the next month. It did for me and I'm now 22 weeks. I'm telling you this because I was at my darkest place after I burried my baby sons last Christmas. And even though the fertility tests were perfect, I think they mentally gave me direction and peace. And other women who had issues told me , they know knew where to start so they are absolutely no harm. I'm so sorry for your losses and feel free to pm. Wishing you so much peace. Ttc and fertility is so hard and exhausting.

You don't need to get the aspirin on prescription, it's available at supermarkets and pharmacy's and is relatively cheap. Get the 75mg dose.

Chemical pregnancies are losses in my eyes and its such a shame they are dismissed as "just a chemical".

SchoolDilemma17 · 15/12/2024 09:12

Happened to me, I went private as the waiting list at recurrent miscarriage clinic were too long (6 months then). Got prescribed progesterone which I took from ovulation, took aspirin, prescription dose vitamins (had blood tests) and blood thinners. My toddler is 3 now.

Thanks for that information...what point should I be taking the aspirin?
