Hello,

Looking for advice/success stories/guidance.

We have been ttc since July 2024 (short I know) but within that time frame I have somehow fell pregnant extremely quickly 3 times.

  • 1st 5w5d (however test was getting light from 5w)
-2nd 4w3d -3rd 4w

I suspect all are chemical pregnancies although the first did have extremely painful cramping and I'm just starting to wonder if I'm over analysing because I am testing so early and becoming aware because the last two did end pretty much bang on my period.

We're both only 32, my gp did run basic bloods and progesterone level came back at 55 on day 21 of my cycle which she said was normal.

I did try the aspirin theory with no.3 however only 75mg.

I'm just wondering am I jumping the gun to go get private fertility testing done as the nhs has said they don't class chemicals as losses to refer me and I think they are keen for me to wait the full year. I'm just so confused at how the initial sperm and egg meet quickly but can't stay then again is this typical and people don't know due to not testing till after the period is late. Also with all 3 I have experienced implantation bleeding.

Thanks in advance for any guidance or advice you all have.

I can only talk from personal experience but I would say if you feel like getting tested you should. I had my first child in 2019. We started trying 8 months later and had no luck (MC's + 1 Chemical within about 18 months). I couldn't understand why for 2 years we couldn't even get pregnant. The NHS wouldn't help as we have a child already. Turns out I had cysts and fibroid on my ovaries and womb. The cysts had completely closed off my tubes so for 2 years that explains why I couldn't get pregnant at all. We spent about £500 on a work up for us both but we found out within minutes what was wrong with me and the NHS done the operation within a month once the private clinic sent my findings.
Sorry its a long story, I just think if there was something wrong or something just making it that little bit harder I'd rather know sooner. If I'd gone private sooner we could have said 1 or 2 years of being heartbroken every month we didn't conceive.
Wish you the best with your journey xx

No thank you so much for sharing, I'm getting a lot of pushback from the nhs because it hasn't been long but I think this is what I'll do.

There's a clinic near that does a full work up of us both for around about £1000 including amh levels and a hycosy scan (I think that's how it's said) plus in the past 2018 I had an operation for a burst ovarian cyst so definitely from what you are saying is worth doing xx

That is weird that they haven't referred you to the fertility clinic. I had about 3 or 4 chemicals and then they referred me. Although I had been trying since end of summer 2023 and then I think I was referred around April but it took quite some time to get the initial appointment.
Consultant couldn't find anything wrong after doing numerous tests so currently on Cyclogest to see if that helps.
Oh and I already have 2 kids too.

I think you should go back to the GP and say that they are supposed to refer you once you have had 3 early miscarriages. My GP says they don't use the term 'chemical'.
