Hello everyone,

Just wanted some advice really, I’m a massive over thinker which does help during the TWW, plus it’s my first cycle trying. My period is due in two days (Friday)

I have been experiencing symptoms such as sore boobs, back pain, constipation and nausea since last Saturday (4 days) I didn’t think much of it but my DH says that they are all out of character for me at for that point in my cycle. So suggested i do an pregnancy test so I did a cheap one from Tesco on Saturday last week and it was negative. However as I was still 6 days before my period was due we also some clear blue early tests which I took on Sunday morning and that came out as a faint positive.

I then took the second clear blue early test on Monday morning and it was also a faint positive but darker than the previous day. My symptoms have continued and have also been joined but tiredness but struggling to sleep at night. When in Tesco's last night I picked up some more cheap tests (the freedom strips) and did one last night that came back positive and they aren’t early tests.

However, since lunch time today I have had pink discharge when I wipe after using the loo. I sometimes get this in the two days leading up to my period and since my period is now due in two days, could this be my period coming and all of the tests I have done are wrong or could I be having a chemical pregnancy or is this pink discharge normal around the time your period is due?

Unfortunately nobody here can answer any of those questions. It really could be any of those things. The only thing you can do is to wait and see if your period comes or if (hopefully!) it doesn’t x

It seems almost impossible all the tests you've done are wrong so I would say yes you're pregnant.

However, bleeding in early pregnancy can be a sign of miscarriage.. it can also not mean anything. Lots of women have bleeding in pregnancy and go on to have healthy pregnancy. It's always worrying though so I totally understand why you'd be concerned.

Sadly tho only time will tell, if your full period arrives then sounds like a chemical, otherwise maybe test again in a few days?

Good luck x

As others have said, the single only thing that is going to answer your question is time.
There is absolutely nothing you have done or can do to influence this in any way
Good luck, hoping it's a positive outcome for you.

Just an update the pink spotting stopped and AF hasn’t arrived and we now have a more clear result on a test.

Possible chemical?

Fantastic news, congratulations

Congratulations! A chemical, as they call it, can happen up to around 5 weeks. I think it should be called what it is, an early miscarriage as a chemical makes it seem less important. I know a lot of people who had spotting and went on to have healthy pregnancies but only time will tell which I know is the hardest thing to hear.

“Is it normal? the pregnancy podcast” taught me 80% of pregnancies have some bleeding.

Congratulations- I’ve had spotting around the time my af would have come and baby was absolutely fine. As others said some spotting can be normal- any heavy red bleeding I’d contact EPU though

Thank you, I’m keeping very realistic as it is still so early so anything can happen although my fingers are very much crossed and hope all is well!
