Irregular cycles and no LH peak after the pill

Hey!!

I am looking for some words of reassurance and advice. I came off the pill in July after being on it for several years. My periods have been irregular since (pic attached). This is my first month ever tracking/testing for ovulation through LH tests. It is currently day 30 and I have been testing since day 10, with no test over 0.2. I haven't tested CM or BBT yet. Has anyone else experienced this after coming off the pill?

I have been on various forms of contraception for 13 years and so have no recall of what my natural periods are like/the length of cycle prior to contraception.

The LG hormone build up over the day, so the recommended times to do the tests are between 2-8pm and to do two each day, a few hours apart. I tend to end up doing them around 2:15 and 5ish. Sometimes have to do one closer to lunchtime.
You should get more accurate results this way.
also good to do it twice as last month one day I did it at 12:15 and had a fairly low number and then by 5pm the second test was my peak. So it can happen really quickly for some people.
I came off the pill in September so was worried I wouldn’t be ovulating but the tears show I was.
If you’re not pregnant this month then I’d suggest ovulation testing twice a day between 2-8pm next time and hopefully you’ll find your peak.

@maple1234 similar happened to me, came off the pill last year after being on for 14 years. Was having 40+ day cycles but did manage to get pregnant. I just DTD every 2-3 days I could catch ovulation when it happened. Unfortunately I’m back to TTC after loss and still having long cycles. I am just making sure I am testing twice a day and DTD every 2-3 days again

Thank you for your advice. I have started testing twice a day for the last few days and they are the same level if not less than the mornings! The problem is I have no idea how long my cycle each month will be and so when to test. This month so far I've used 24+ tests and still not had a positive 😢 it gets expensive!

I'm really sorry to hear about your loss 😢 wishing you all the luck! how long were you having 40+ day cycles for? And do you know roughly what day you were ovulating? I don't mind the long cycles as long as I know that I'm ovulating!

Thank you. I’ve not actually had less than a 40 day cycle yet, as in the past year I’ve had 2 miscarriages and so it’s sent my body haywire! But it does show that even with irregular cycles I got pregnant twice. I was ovulating around CD33. Sometimes I’d give up testing as it got annoying, but got more in tune with my body so noticed when EWCM was increasing so would start testing again then and so saw my tests then be high & go to peak

Thank you for the hope that longer, irregular cycles can still mean ovulation! I will keep testing. Fingers crossed for you ☺️
