I'm 32 and TTC #1, for piece of mind for my fertility I went for private scan. I've been found to have a 10mm polyp and a small fibroid, I've been told the next step is a referral from my GP. Should I be worried? Has anyone experienced this? This has been actioned today but I have no idea how long the process is and I've been told that chose and book is not available to me.

Today is also day 3 of my flashing smiley and I'm due to ovulate in 5 days, do I pause trying this month until I get my appointment? I feel like I've had a massive step back now 🙁 I've seen that there is still a chance that I can get pregnant but potentially will be high risk.

Hi OP, the only thing I would suggest is speaking to your GP again or even seeing if you can get a private consultation with an obs/gynae specialist if that's an option for you, to clarify what the impact would be if you fell pregnant before polyp or fibroid were looked at / treated. Would there be any potential risks to a pregnancy or would it be harder to conceive. What's the likely cause of these issues. What's the likely outcome for you in terms of treatments. What are waiting times like for each stage. These are the sorts of questions I'd want answers to before I could make an informed decision.

I had a similar issue earlier in the year. I miscarried twins in April and was desperate to start trying again, but in May I found out I had an umbilical hernia. I had to decide whether to stop TTC until it was surgically repaired or to just start trying again and let the chips fall where they may, hoping my hernia didn't become unsafe. I could only have made that decision by getting as much information as possible.

Wishing you all the best. I hope everything works out for you xx

I'm really sorry to hear that ❤️ got everything crossed that things work out for you too.

Good idea, I think I'll make an appointment for my GP again. I'm due to ovulate tomorrow, so for this month we are still trying, my mindset is if we don't try we obviously won't get pregnant and if we do there is a slim chance but you don't know unless you try I guess.
