1 miscarriage & 2 chemical pregnancies, what can I change?

This month is now my 7th cycle of TTC, I had an MC back in June, a chemical in August and I believe I’m having another one this month.
I’ve not long turned 30 and he is 33, we are both relatively healthy, no health issues and we eat and exercise as everybody else does around working full time, running a house and trying to keep a happy relationship just that! 🤍
Our first baby for both of us and we thought it would be a lovely fun experience with lots of sex and no stress.. how wrong we were!

I just want some advise on what we can do different, what worked for others and what you all recommend, please? I track ovulation on both Flo & Premom and use CB smiley ovulation tests and test strips and my cycles are regularly 28 days. I can’t do BBT because I work such ridiculous shift patterns including nights that it would not be accurate results. I’ve read a lot about ‘baby aspirin’ and progesterone and I’ve requested to speak to a GP but as ever it’s not an immediate thing.

Just honestly any advise would be greatly appreciated please - I really want a little baby for us both 😔

I’m so sorry you are going through this. I had three chemical pregnancies in a year and am now 12 weeks pregnant. The only thing I did differently this month was take low dose aspirin throughout my cycle (advised by doctor). I don’t know if it was this or just a coincidence but it seems to have worked. My doctor said there is increasing evidence for the use of aspirin especially in women over 30.

Sorry OP, it’s rubbish. I had a chemical and a MC before having my daughter. As PP the only thing I did differently was taking baby aspirin, between 5-10 weeks or so. I don’t think that’s what made it - with the miscarriage the growth was massively behind on the scans so not a good sign right away, so most likely I just got lucky with the good chromosomes in the end. But the aspirin made me feel like I was doing something different and gave me a bit more hope. Best of luck x

I did the exact same with my 2 successful pregnancies

Thank you ladies, it’s nice to hear success stories in such a horrible storm! It’s heartbreaking every time so a little bit of hope goes a very long way!

I have read a lot about baby aspirin but there’s no real definitive answer as to when to start it, some say before BFP and same say after so I’m not sure when to start? Obviously I’ll wait for the doctors advise but just nice to hear others recommendations too! 🤍

I had three chemicals and then one that stuck. I don’t know what the difference was, I suspect genetic viability rather than hormones or lining or anything. I did cut out caffeine completely soon before the successful one. I’m older than you but we also both took coq10 and followed the other recommendations in ‘it starts with the egg’

Three miscarriages in a row were the indicators my OB/Gyn used to prescribe progesterone. I had a D&C after the third and genetic testing was done to rule out abnormalities.

I think you need to make it plain to your doctor that you want to be treated effectively and soon.

Forgot to add, this was in the US.

CookieMonster28 · 13/11/2024 15:29

I had 2 MCs
Took baby aspirin in both subsequent pregnancies (have 1 DC and currently pregnant)
Just be prepared that your GP may not be overly enthusiastic about it (mine wasn't) but I did my own research and it's worked for me and there's no harm trying. I took/take 75mg from day of positive test to 36 weeks.
Hope it all works out for you. X

OneGreenKoala · 13/11/2024 16:45

I was seeing a fertility consultant privately who advised 75mg from day 1 of my cycle. The GP said he couldn’t prescribe it to me but that it couldn’t harm.

Thanks for those who’ve shared their success stories from low dose aspirin. I’m going to give this a try next cycle, I’m on cycle 17 of trying after a missed miscarriage so at this point I’ll try anything. Currently on the waiting list for fertility treatment but really hoping for a miracle before we go down a medicated or IVF route. 5dpo today so when my AF inevitably arrives next week I’ll start it.

ccxo · 14/11/2024 01:41

Thank you all! 🥹
I think I’m going to give aspirin a try on my next cycle - I have done some more reading and majority say from around 3dpo so that’s what I will do and fingers crossed 🤞🏼✨ x
