Where do I go from here?

Been ttc baby number 3 for 18 months and have had one chemical pregnancy 6 months in. DH and I are both 31.

Baby no1 took a matter of weeks to conceive.
Baby no2 took 6 months but only a couple of months once we started using OPKs and being careful with timing of sex.

Baby no2 was delivered by c section so I don’t know if that’s done some damage which is now affecting my fertility?

I’ve done some private blood tests with hertility and everything looks ok hormonally.
I can’t get an appointment with my NHS GP even though I’ve had painful periods since they started in my teens.

I would like a pelvic ultrasound and for DH to get a semen analysis. It’s cheaper for us to pursue those independently but if we do find anything then would we need those redone at a fertility clinic if we need further support?

I feel like there’s some sort of structural issue in my uterus or fallopian tubes. Scarring from previous c section or perhaps endometriosis.
Both of these feel as though they would be expensive to resolve.
Ive always had painful periods but that didn’t seem to affect things with ttc in the past.

I don’t really know what I’m asking. I’m just shouting into the void to see if anyone has any advice. I just want to know WHY this is happening.

Im not looking for advice to stop ttc - we aren’t there yet. We have personal reasons for wanting another child and are wanting to pursue this.

Hi OP, I recently looked into ivf and they accepted my husband’s semen analysis as long as it is within 6 months. I’m not sure about scans but I cannot see why as the doctor just reviews the sonographers work. I was advised if there are additional tests/procedures you need to do you can get a referral letter and go back to your GP to do it via NHS or continue privately.

Interesting, thank you!

I don’t think we would get anything on the NHS as we already have children.
And I get the impression that any gynaecology referral for suspected endo will take months if not years.

It’s just hard to know where to focus our efforts I suppose.
I’m finding it an intensely lonely journey.
