Hi! My husband I had positive test last night and this morning (image attached, bottom one most recent). Exciting! Although I can't help but feel anxious about everything. What happens next? I'm guessing I have to change supplements (I'm on pre-conception pregnacare). When do you tell the GP or midwife? Any advice is greatly appreciated 🙏. Thanks x

I called gp straight away I was on a lot of medication so needed to check if safe. They told me I had to register my pregnancy on the maternity site I think and then about 6 weeks in I started getting messages about future appointments for scans and midwife.

Look at local maternity services. There is usually a link to self-refer after getting a positive test. You’ll usually get a letter through for your booking appointment for around 8 weeks. Though this can vary considerably as I know people that have had booking appointments after their first scans, which seems a bit odd really.
It’s a bit of an anti climax once you finally get that positive test, especially if you are waiting to tell people as you then just have to wait for your appointments.
Switch to pregnacare now (or a supermarket own brand version- the price point is the only real difference). Start to really prioritise things like your diet now. In a few weeks you could be sick as a dog, or exhausted, or needing to throw everything in your mouth to stop nausea, so make the most of this bit now where you have a bit more control over your tummy!

And congratulations. Wishing you a very happy and healthy journey!

@Vhp83 thank you for that, very useful. I assumed it went through the GP!

@Nodlikeyouwerelistening It is quite anticlimactic! I'm not allowing myself to get too excited either, just in case something happens, as its so early.

I have however just called my local midwife clinic and booked in for the 21st November. Fingers crossed its not a chemical thing time 🙏.

Xx
