Still testing positive?

I’m hoping someone see’s this and can give me some insight as the doctors are giving me nothing. I had my son last October and for the last 6 months I’ve been on the mini pill. I’ve had in total 9 pregnancies but only 2 of which resulted in beautiful children.
I had early pregnancy symptoms whilst on the pill so I stopped and took a test and it was a faint positive, this was on the 13.10.24. My lines didn’t seem to be getting darker and I did have a bleed on the 17th however nothing since. When I went the hospital they tested my urine and blood and it both came up negative. However when I got home I used my last clear blue which was positive! The doctor said I’m definitely not pregnant and my tests were duds however I have 22 of these “duds”. I’m still testing positive now after waiting a week. I’m really confused. My tests are not dark still but they are appearing after 30 seconds of dipping my test. I’m really confused and mentally exhausted.
ive attached a picture of my test next to an ovulation test. Does anyone have any insight?

I would trust the blood test and go back to your doctor to ask for further tests to find out the cause.

This is what I’m thinking to do, do you know of times the blood tests have been wrong? Thanks xx

The blood tests aren’t wrong no, the at home tests will be. I’d definitely go back to speak to GP x

What result do you get on other tests? For example a digital?

Harriet1989 · 29/10/2024 05:42

Are you taking night nurse? I've had false positives from that but not come across any other medication which causes it.

Superdrug do a saliva pregnancy test too - that may help rule out something in your urine

Mainly tho I agree with going back to your doctor, the blood test will be the most reliable

I’ve not taken a digital yet as the lines where faint and just assumed they would be negative, I’ve taken the clear blue early and the one step tests and the easy at home tests.

I would try with the least sensitive test you can do, like a digital and see what that says. A hospital is likely using a 25 sensitivity test not a 10. Seems to me like you may have had a very early miscarriage and the HCG is showing on your extra sensitive tests, but won't meet the minimum threshold for a Dr to confirm pregnancy, as only trace amounts of HCG are present.

If this is the case then your HCG will drop back to zero, but will take a little while. However if the tests remain strong or get stronger then I do think you should ask for repeat bloods.

The blood tests won't be wrong, it's just that below a certain level of HCG it doesn't confirm pregnancy. There can be other medical reasons or medication that can cause trace amounts of HCG in your urine or blood, but not as high as a viable pregnancy would. Worth seeing a doctor again to see if there is another cause.
