Interested if you’ve been to the gp for support around fertility, what were the timelines like?
as in, did you first go to the gp after a year, when did you get further testing and any referrals, appointments or treatment?

I think I’m worried that everything takes forever in the nhs so hoping to get a realistic idea ☺️

Hey! I'm 38 and I contacted my GP at around 6months of TTC, I have had bloods to confirm ovulation, along with a pelvic ultrasound (external and transvaginal) and my husband has had 2 sperm tests. The GP can arrange these without you being referred to a fertility clinic, I need to wait another 8months before I can be referred to a clinic, due to having to try for 2 years. The clinic referral criteria can differ depending on which NHS trust you are with, the GP will be able to advise that the criteria is.

Thank you that’s really helpful! That’s a good idea to look up local policy actually, I hadn’t thought of that ☺️
