Hi! I'm 35, turning 36 soon, and currently trying to conceive (TTC). I've done some fertility checks through the NHS, but the appointments are so far apart. I decided to go private and initially went to TFP because a friend had a successful pregnancy there at a young age (33).

However, I was disappointed with my appointment as the doctor sounded more like a marketer, pushing their second and third cycle pack.
I'm now deciding between ARGC and CRGH fertility clinics due to their high success rates.I think clinics sometimes get away with practices that might intentionally fail cycles.I would like to be confident that they are committed to success from the beginning, rather than pushing for multiple cycles. As a paying customer, I think it's important to interview clinics about their approach and how they differentiate themselves. I'm looking for clinics with the highest success rates, and I want to be sure they are committed and not just trying to push me into multiple cycles for profit.

Do you have any recommendations for which clinic to choose in London?

The only thing I would say about the multiple cycle packages is that they push those because lots of people do require more than one cycle, and the multi cycle packages are typically much cheaper than paying for 1 cycle multiple times. Also lots of clinics (maybe all?) refund if you do fall pregnant first time. Good luck x

We chose to go out of London cause less stressful. This place is in a little village and is the birthplace of ivf. Great success rates and just makes you feel so at ease. Please check it out. The peaceful location takes the clinicalness out of it and when you are at ease it's more likely to work.

Had 2 cycles there and now beyond lucky to have an amazing 8 year old created there.

Good luck

I see they have multiple locations. Which of their clinics has the highest success rates, or if you've personally had a successful experience with them, at which of their locations would you recommend?

HFEA has really good stats pages.

Clinics want to be successful because a lot of people use their stats to choose a clinic. They won't rig to fail, though some places are less good than others either in terms of success or communication.

Personally I tried ARGC and they said no due to my medical conditions. I then went to London women's clinic and am 38/40 on my first cycle and qualified for kindIVF which meant I probably saved £10,000.

We went to the main one in Cambridgeshire itself. Please google image it it is a country house converted into a Clinic great big natural space really ancient trees a good place to sit in Ponder whilst you are having the treatment.

I'm sure the peaceful atmosphere had something to do with the success and it was no more expensive than anywhere else at the time Louise Brown the very first IVF baby in the world was born there people used to fly in from all different countries to have treatment there

I used CRGH. The drs are great. The administrative side needs work. With that said what I like about CRGH is they take on "problem" cases that many clinics would turn down. I'd definitely use them again.

I was considering CRGH as well, so I wanted to do some research before making a decision. It sounds like you had a positive experience with them. Out of curiosity, and without wanting to be intrusive, could you give me a general idea of the cost?

I’d be interested to see which ones offer refunds. I don’t think this is accurate.

Women should be wary of clinics that prioritize profit over patient well-being. I have concerns about clinics pushing for multiple cycles to maximize revenue, even when a single cycle might be successful. I'm looking for a clinic that genuinely empathizes with patients and strives for the best outcome.
My own experience highlights the importance of seeking a second opinion. A clinic I visited misrepresented my AMH levels, likely to inflate the cost of treatment. They also offered no refunds for their multi-cycle package, leaving me feeling pressured and uncertain. I found a different clinic that gave me a much higher AMH reading, which confirmed my suspicions about the first clinic's motives.

It's crucial to find a clinic that prioritizes honesty, transparency, and patient care over financial gains.

We went to CRGH. 10 years ago so our experience is not recent.

Our GP suggested to choose a clinic that also does NHS work because she said they are more likely to be up to date with latest research (I don’t know if that’s true but that’s what she said). We visited CRGH and Lister and I much preferred CRGH - Lister seemed more sales oriented and ‘slick’ and CRGH presentation evening seemed more knowledge based (different specialists talking about what they do).

It’s hard because I don’t have anything to compare but I agree with a previous comment that administratively they were a bit annoying and often long waits in the waiting room. Also we had add on treatments that I don’t know whether they really made a difference (endometrial scratch and intralipid infusion). On the other hand perhaps they did!

This was 10 years ago (our son is 9) and they’ve moved locations since then (used to be on the site of the dental hospital on Greys Inn Road - very cramped). So that’s probably much improved now.

Do you know your antral follicle count? For me that was a more accurate indicator of my fertility than AMH.
