My first ever two week wait! Day one post ovulation, if I’ve done the maths correctly! Anyone else?

On Thursday I will be 11dpo and maybe going to test then. My period is due on Wednesday. I also have a fertility reflexology appointment on Thursday and feel she might be able to get an inclination so I’d rather test before that appointment. I’ve only had 2 sessions so far surprising how much they can tell!

Clara202 · 14/10/2024 20:51

I think there’s 6 of us here now. Just think, this time time next week, one of us may be pregnant, or all 6 if we want to think really positively about matters 😂

@Clara202 Thats a lovely positive way to look at it, its exciting 😀 @LS888 Fertility reflexology what does that entail? Sounds interesting

LS888 · 15/10/2024 07:45

@ThatSnugSwan it is just reflexology on your feet that activates different pressure points that link to different areas of your body. She can tell areas where I’m holding tension and can tell when I’m about to ovulate. She knows my history of my mmc any that we are trying to conceive. It’s also a nice way for me to relax - I didn’t think I would enjoy it as I have ticklish feet but it’s actually really nice. A lady who did last last NCT course recommended it for conception- she had it throughout her IVF treatment and throughout pregnancy. Another lady’s my mum knows who had 8 MC recommended it. So thought I’d live it a try! If it doesn’t do anything other than relax me then that’s fine. It’s quite nice to have an hour of me time.

Anon2822 · 15/10/2024 07:49

Hey ladies, can I join in on your TWW thread 🤞🏼 I’m 6DPO, been trying to conceive for 9 months now, had a chemical last month. I’m hoping this is the month to get that BFP!

Pennyroses · 15/10/2024 08:06

Anyone else feeling like it just isn't going to be the month this month?? I feel like all my pms symptoms are kicking in now and I'm feeling quite down about it 🙁 period is due Saturday.
@LS888 I did reflexology to conceive last year, started in the may and I was pregnant by August. Unfortunately I lost that baby at 19 weeks at the end of last year 😢 but I do feel it worked. It was just so expensive so I stopped it, thinking of starting it up again now you've mentioned it! x

ThatSnugSwan · 15/10/2024 08:32

@LS888 Sounds so nice I may look into it. This is obly my first month back ttc after a loss but the relaxation part sounds so good I'm so stressed lately we have a lot going on at the moment. @Anon2822 Your very welcome and sorry for your loss 🤍 Baby dust to you.
@Pennyroses Im actually so nervous to find out if its our month or not, the only symptom I had was a pulling sensation in my left side but its gone now. Also due on Saturday

LS888 · 15/10/2024 08:47

@Pennyroses that sounds tough. So sorry for your loss. The lady who does mine said relaxation is so important and TTC is stressful enough without having previous losses. I’m currently doing it every 2 weeks.

@ThatSnugSwan definitely try and find some local recommendations. I’ve really liked it!

ThatSnugSwan · 15/10/2024 09:25

I caved this morning at 10dpo on a boots cheap strip test and boots early test and Bfn, feeling crap and I know im not out till Af shows but really thought the early test might show something if I am

TWW Day 1
LS888 · 15/10/2024 09:45

@ThatSnugSwan when is your period due? There is still time. Don’t think I’ve had a positive at 10dpo.

These last few days are always the hardest. I’m 9dpo. Think we got a positive at 11dpo with my daughter. Period is due Wed/Thursday anyway. Thursday will be 11dpo. I’m also starting to feel a bit sick but don’t know if it’s in my head or because my husband and toddler are poorly at the moment.

ThatSnugSwan · 15/10/2024 10:04

@LS888 Period is due Saturday. I know I tested early so I still have time but oh my god it really drives ya crazy this tww. In my head now I'm out but I know id be telling someone else there's still plenty of time

Pennyroses · 15/10/2024 12:35

@LS888 thankyou, yes I agree it does really help to relax you in the tww. I'm definitely going to start it up again if I'm not pregnant this cycle. Saying that it's supposed to be benifitial during pregnancy too.
This tww is driving me insane!! I woke up sure Im just premenstrual as have a few symptoms but now my boobs don't feel like they usually do, I keep checking to see if the pain is there 😂 but it's much less than it usually is which is odd as I always have really painful boobs the week before my period 🤔 x

Clara202 · 15/10/2024 12:38

@ThatSnugSwan
https://www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=11
I came across this, you’re 66% likely to get a positive if you’re pregnant on day 10, 79% on day 11 and it goes up and up. Just keep that in mind. If I were you I’d just text again on day 12 if AF doesn’t come in the meantime.
@Pennyroses I feel very unlikely as well, I have no symptoms at all but also it’s my first time ttc and I’m 38, so I’ve already prepared myself for the long haul. Right now I’m feeling mentally positive but if I have no bfp after a few months I’ll very likely be down in the dumps as well.

Welcome @Anon2822 🥰

OP posts:
Pennyroses · 15/10/2024 13:20

@Clara202 I'm 38 too. We've technically been trying since January 2023,i got pregnant last August but unfortunately lost that baby at 19 weeks 🙁 so it took us 7 months that time and we started trying again January this year and I did get pregnant again last month but that was a chemical. So it took under a year both times which isn't bad considering my age and my partner also has a low sperm count! Hoping it's 3rd time lucky for us soon!! 🙏 I'm sure if all is well on both your sides it should be quicker for you 🤞x

ThatSnugSwan · 15/10/2024 14:21

Thank you @Clara202 for that. I will Im gona ban myself from testing now till 12dpo and time will tell I suppose

Clara202 · 15/10/2024 14:42

For those of you that were pregnant before, were you nauseous during your two week wait? I’m seeing people say the felt sick before doing the test, wondering how common that is. I feel the same as I ever do!

OP posts:
Pennyroses · 15/10/2024 15:09

@Clara202 no I've never been nauseous before a positive pregnancy test, it always kicks in at around 6 weeks for me. And I get horrendous nauseous in pregnancy. Apparently it can be a normal AF symptom too so I wouldn't read into that as a symptom

ThatSnugSwan · 15/10/2024 15:17

Never had nausea or any symptoms till 6 or 7 weeks before. 6/7 weeks I got headaches and sore boobs

LS888 · 15/10/2024 15:39

@Clara202 I think it depends on the person and timing of the test. I felt sick with my last pregnancy on the Friday and I hadn’t taken a test and I just knew id felt like this before so assumed I was pregnant. Took the test later that day and it was positive. I think I was 11dpo. That one ended as a mmc though.

For my first mmc and my daughter I felt sick a few days after I had the positive. But I tend to feel nauseous for most of the first 12 weeks (and beyond when I went on to have my daughter).

For me today, think I’m overthinking the sickness feeling which I’m currently feeling as I have a cold and my husband is poorly and my daughter has hand foot and mouth. So think I feel poorly because of that, I don’t want to overthink it in case it isn’t due to a pregnancy. I think for lots of people it’s symptom spotting and anxiety which starts the nausea!

Clara202 · 15/10/2024 17:15

I was about to say I feel nothing at all and that I’ve already ruled myself out, but I just went to the loo there and I’m bleeding. Very likely AF as I’ve always been irregular. If it was actually was implantation, what would it look like and how long would it last?

OP posts:
LS888 · 15/10/2024 18:04

@Clara202 for me implantation have been darker/browner in colour and only lasted about 3/4 days. But I read things saying that light spotting is normal too and short lived. I think it just depends on the person.

ThatSnugSwan · 15/10/2024 18:15

@Clara202 for me it was light pink and brown and only when I wiped, nothing on a pad and lasted 1 day

ThatSnugSwan · 15/10/2024 18:39

@Clara202 Ive read so many threads on mumsnet where some women bleed in the first few weeks of pregnancy and orhers who have heavy implantation bleeds. Every woman is different. I hope your doing ok

Clara202 · 15/10/2024 19:11

I won’t read too much into it! Mine is definitely heavier and is staining, could well be a period but the cramps feel different. Who knows at this stage! I’m ok thanks @ThatSnugSwan , I’ll test on Thursday or Friday anyway as planned 🙂
