I’m currently early pregnant however have a dachund. At the moment she sleeps in my bedroom, she’s only just over 1, not on my bed but in her bed in my room. I think I should move her out my room asap to get her used to it before baby comes & I really regret ever letting her sleep in our room this was my partners decision not mine. How can I gradually move her out? I feel so so so guilty but I’m stressing about it!

I also have a low level allergy and she does bother me sometimes so I know it’s for the best for me and baby but I can’t help but feel so guilty

We didn’t change anything. Just encompassed the new baby into our happy doggy friendly family! When the babies both came back the dogs both sniffed them and had a few treats to ensure they thought the babies were great. They loved them, and our children loved them back. Got loads of pictures of both kids very young cuddled up with a Labrador or two.

They continue to adore them, one dogs job is to go to bed with my daughter each night.

The instagram account dog meets baby has useful advice for preparing dog for baby and also after baby is here so that’s worth a follow.
Congratulations on your pregnancy 😊

Agree with the above about the dog meets baby instagram account.
We have 3 mini dachshunds so I understand about having them in the bedroom - they love to be close to their family! We kept ours in our room after baby was born, but put a barrier so they couldn’t walk around the room. So they’d sleep next to my husbands side of the bed and the baby was next to my side.
It might be a good idea to look into crate training if you want her to sleep elsewhere. Then you can pile blankets in it as I know they love snuggling under them! And you know she’ll be safe in a crate. I have absolutely no advice on how to do this though as all three of ours refused a crate and it wasn’t worth the stress 😅 Daxies are very stubborn!
If she’s happy sleeping in her own bed, could you try putting her bed just outside your bedroom door for a week, let her get used to that, then move the bed further away for a week etc so you’re sort of gradually moving her to a new place to sleep at night?

This makes me feel so much better!! I don’t want her out our room but worried about health visitor judging, she’s my baby & she’s settled. I’m thinking have her at my partners side of bed and baby of course next to me!! She hated a crate so I got rid. What did you use as a barrier? That could be a good idea!!! I’ve been so not strict with her like letting her on my bed etc so I’m going to stop that now xx

Congratulations!
Our dog continued to sleep in our room with baby 😊 everything was fine!
We bought a plastic baby in prep and played crying noises lol. Not sure it did anything, but he adapted well. We made sure he had his own space too to get away when he wanted to
Also got in laws to introduce baby’s new hat so he could have a good sniff once she was born before we came home from hospital.
