How to speak to obstetrician before ttc

Considering ttc but have a complicated medical history (related to pregnancy and birth) and would really like to speak to my previous obstetrician beforehand to discuss the risks. I don’t know how to go about even trying to speak to her/ if I can make an appointment for this sort of thing.

Do I go via GP and ask for a referral? Try to see her privately as a one off, if she even does appts for this? it needs to be a specific consultant who knows my history and I trust explicitly.

If anyone has any advice I would really appreciate it.

Midwife here. I would contact the antenatal clinic and ask for a previous pregnancy debrief and then you can chat about your prior birth and your concerns about this pregnancy? Every trust is different but if a consultant can't/wont see you they should find someone who can help

I would suggest GP referral is the way forward. Good luck

Could you try speaking to the consultants secretary? They'll probably have a good idea of the best way of doing this.

Thanks all. The consultant/ hospital is in a different trust to the one I live in, so think GP referral might actually not work in this case. Will try the pregnancy debrief first- do I just call the antenatal team?
