Myo-Inositol for suspected but not confirmed or mild PCOS?

I suspect I might have mild PCOS (body hair, weight gain, slightly irregular periods, slightly high testosterone), but not been diagnosed (ovaries “normal” on a scan.
wondering if myo-inositol might still be helpful. I can’t see anything that says it will be harmful to try, but wondered what others experience is?

I was in exactly the same position with the addition of my period stopping for a prolonged period. I took myointisol and my period came within a few weeks, other symptoms lessened. My period became regular for the first time in years. I stopped when TTC as I was worried as I hadn't been disgnosed and did not conceive. I then used it alongside Proceive and conceived quickly (after a while of trying).

Hi Muddysocks, I had high testosterone on a blood test and started taking myo inositol after researching here and online, my cycles went from 44 days to 30 day cycles for my last 2 cycles. No luck TTC as of yet but on the right road 🤞
Might be worthwhile asking your doc to get bloods done to check your hormone levels 😊 sending you lots of baby dust ✨️✨️

Sorry OP missed the bit in your post about your testosterone!

Would highly recommend. I don't think it would have an adverse effect. I took inofolic which was of vegetable origin. Conceived 3 months after starting after trying for 4 years, within a month of starting for second child.

I’ve started taking it so will see how it goes 🤞🏻

Can I ask which brand you took for myointisol? Thanks!!

@Muddysocks1 how did it go?

I have slightly raised testosterone, excess facial hair weight gain etc. and have been trying for 13 months I think I’m going to give it a go for 3 months to see if it makes a difference but I’m going to speak to my gp about getting an insulin resistance test.

Muddysocks1 · 21/01/2025 08:19

I took for a month then forgot to re-order, so have only just started taking again

Haven’t lost any weight.. although, I did get a positive test (that then disappeared) in November - so part of me wonders if it was connected? I’ve started taking them again this cycle, but I did read it takes 3 months to have an effect. But I didn’t notice any negatives from it

@Muddysocks1 interesting I’m going to try and give it a go for 3 months to see if it makes a difference.

I’m getting fasted blood sugar tests and some other blood work to see if I am insulin resistant but I definitely show signs of it. I’ll keep you posted. I’m currently taking conceive plus ovulation support.
