Exactly as the title says, anyone got any advice?

I try to not stress or obsess but I want it so bad it's all I think about most the time and I get upset thinking about AF coming.

Anyone else?

Stress has a huge effect on your body. It can disrupt your periods, ovulation etc. Obviously people with have their anecdotal evidence, and it’s not to say you can’t get pregnant if your stressed, just it’s one thing you can try and do (like more exercise, better diet, etc.), to improve your chances of conceiving.

Similar to above posters I tried for ages, decided to have a break for a few months, drank loads, got pregnant in the first month!! I’m not saying that was the reason for it, there are multiples of factors, but it’s well documented how stress affects your body.

I have IBD and every time I have a flare up, the doctors ask if I am under any stress as it’s a well know factor for a lot of conditions.

The one month I conceived naturally was actually the most stressful month of my life .
Second pregnancy was ivf and again I was stressing over the pressure of it working and it did

I think the stress has to be so severe that your body can't function & ovulation stops. I think everyone has a level of stress in life don't they

I do think stress can affect your overall health, but remember people conceive in war zones and in other awful situations! Anything that helps you be well overall will benefit you generally, and help you cope with TTC-it is stressful!

Yeah for sure! I don't feel like I'm stressed really at all I would say overthinking is more like it. My ovulation isn't disrupted, my body is like clockwork & I am a healthy weight. I feel well in myself. I just would like to not think about TTC so much

Yeah I've heard it happens when you are no longer thinking about it but then I've also heard that's down to probability & not the stressing about it. Hard to know I think. I personally just overthink & obsess. Other than that I lead a normal healthy life

Is it possible to try and fail to conceive merrily. For years.

Tadpolecat · 10/09/2024 20:38

I don't believe it does. I went all out to concieve our first. I did more than most people would on their first attempt - ovulation testing, legs in the air, sex on the right days on purpose. I was pretty obsessed about being in with the best chance. I fell first try.
