Four days late, negative pregnancy test

Advice please ladies. We’re in our first month of TTC and tomorrow I will be four days late. I did a pregnancy test with the first urine of the day on day two of missed period, but it was negative. I presumed my period was just late but it still didn’t appear today. I also haven’t had any period symptoms, no cramping etc. When should I test again? If I test again and it is still negative, what do I do, contact GP? I feel clueless. Thank you xx

It is likely that you have ovulated later than usual. This in turn makes AF the same number of days late. Without knowing when you ovulated it would be hard to say.

One time mine was 6 days late. I measured ovulation so knew it would happen.

I would wait a week and test again.

If it’s your first month ttc were you on the pill or anything last month? How have you been tracking your cycles so far?

You don’t contact GP no, you just wait until period arrives and then try again next cycle. Good luck x

I’m just worried in case it doesn’t arrive and the tests are still negative.

We didn’t track ovulation in August as we were on holiday. I had my coil removed in April. First cycle was 33 days long and then every one thereafter was 25.

It can take time for a body to regulate and also cycles do differ in length, a GP will see you if you have not conceived after 12 months of actively trying x

Hi OP, what's been your longest cycle in the last 6 months? 33 days?
I'd hold out till then and retest if no period by day 34.

Hiya. I had my coil removed on 23 April and my first cycle was 33 days. The next 3 were 25 days and the fourth was predicted to be 25 again (using the Apple Health app). If I am not pregnant, is it normal to completely miss a period 4/5 months after coming off contraception? Thanks for advice xx

I would still go by your longest cycle as it can take 6 months for it to settle into a pattern after coming off BC.

Missed periods can happen randomly at any time unfortunately. Not often but I've had maybe 2 or 3 in my whole life (I'm 41).... then the next month I just went straight back to normal. No real reason for it but stressful at the time.

According to Google you can skip a period for a variety of reasons stress, shift work, illness, travel, weight loss, exercise being just some of them

It is such a minefield. I really don’t understand half of it unfortunately. The more I read the more I worry!
My period should be due tomorrow. Hopefully things regulate themselves soon😣
