Baby measuring a week behind

Had my first pregnancy scan today. Massive step after losing our twins at birth 10 months ago.

Baby was there with a strong heartbeat. Only thing that worried me is I thought I was 7 weeks 2 days, but I measured 6 weeks 2 days. I know my dates as I've been tracking since my twin loss.

The sonographer wasn't worried though as she said its based on a 28 day cycle and day 14 ovulation day.

I'm 32 day cycle and I ovulate on day 18. I can't help but worry though.

My last period was 16th July.

Tuesday again. This was a reassurance scan so I'm meeting my obestrician Tuesday.

That sounds right for your later ovulation date.

I wouldn't worry too much. The difference in a week at this stage is barely negligible, you're talking millimetres. With my son, we had similar where he was measuring slightly smaller than expected at the reassurance scan, and then when we got to the 12 week scan, he measured at 13 weeks, which was in line with our first calculation, so he'd had a little bit of a spurt at some point.

I really wouldn't worry, you'd expect to measure 4 days behind based on your cycle, and the measurements are tiny at that stage so not accurate.

Thank you, it's so hard not to worry

I measured 5 days behind on an early scan with my son. At my 12 week scan he was still 4 days behind. He's almost 2 now and a force of nature. Wishing you all the best for a similar outcome.

Early scans are meant to be for reassurance but they seem to cause more worry. 25 years ago I got one scan at 18 weeks so we had no idea of size at certain points, all I know is both mine measured small for dates and were 6lbers born, as was I myself - my DDs are aware that they may have small babies. Try not to worry, I know you will be even more anxious than the typical mum to be but try just to let your body grow that little one without worrying
