Irregular periods 3 months after Nexplanon implant removal.. what do I do??

I'm starting to get really anxious about this and just not sure what to do. Whether its just a temporary side effect and I need to wait or a sign of something wrong with me 😢

Been on birth control (mainly the pill) for going on 20 years. Now 32. I most recently was on the implant for 3 years and removed it 3 months ago so we could start trying for a baby. I've never been pregnant before. And I guess I can't really say I had a regular cycle and no problems before because my times off hormonal birth control were never month than a couple of months.

I feel like I was wrongly reassured by the nurses constantly warning you fertility would return to normal 24 hours after removing the implant 😟But since the removal my period has been all over the place.

Had a period a few days after removal then nothing for about 6 weeks. Third period was 22 days later so I was worried it was a bit short but now my fourth period has shown up just 19 days later so we seem to be moving in the opposite direction.

The plan had been not to 'properly' try to conceive until Christmas time as we're in the middle of a house renovation. But the irregularity of this is making me so anxious there's a real problem and conceiving will be really difficult so part of me wants to start trying more intensively straight away, ovulation tests etc. Might be a hard sell to my partner though and come across as slightly insane while we still don't even have a kitchen / proper roof over our heads at this very moment in time...

Has anyone else had this situation with the implant? Did it resolve itself? Do you have a baby now?

I don't know what my next course of action should be.. start with ovulation tests now? Wait and see if it rights itself? Go to the doctor? Any vitamins to help resolve cycles?

Any help anyone can give (or any reassurance) would be so appreciated. It seems to be getting worse each month and I'm getting more anxious 😔

Info following removal is:
Over the next 3 months, your periods may be irregular if you do not start other birth control. This is normal. They should become more regular and normal over time

I’d just wait for a couple of months and see. There’s nothing the GP can do at this point tbh and no vitamin is going to change your cycle. Maybe if things still haven’t settled by Christmas see the GP, but I’d only do that after a couple of months using ovulation strips so you have that info to give them if you don’t see a surge.

Thank you.

I think I just felt with the latest 19 day cycle it was moving in the wrong direction from 'getting back to normal' if that makes sense. But maybe it's not always as simple as that when your cycle is becoming more regular again.

Before having my implant put in, I was always 28 days. Had implant for nearly 6 years and got it took out July. 5 days later I bled for 5 days (I've always bled for 5 days), ovulated in August but only managed to BD once during. I should be due my period today but so far nothing. Will test tomorrow but this is my fear, being stuck in limbo land waiting for everything to go back to normal.

Unfortunately I don't know the answer but as hard as it is, remember to try not to worry too much. Hopefully your cycles will return to normal very soon, I'd personally wait a couple more months to see what happens then go to the GP.
