It looks like a very faint line to me. I can't even begin to believe it.
It's 7pm at night.. so not first urine.

I always thought I couldn't conceive. I had anorexia for 9 years, I didn't have a period for 8 of those. My doctor prescribed me HRT 3 years ago to try and bring them back and I've had 4 periods in that time, very sporadic. I tried to test for ovulation for a year but nothing so I assumed I just didn't ovulate anymore.

But I've felt strange. Headache, sore boobs, nausea on a night (not a morning but right before bed) so I thought... well. I best check. What's the harm. I'll buy a cheap set.

I think I need to buy a Clear Blue. But I'm absolutely shaking right now. Am I seeing things? I need the "is this a line" queens!

Just to update you all,
I've gone from 1-2 weeks to 3+ on a Clearblue in the space of a week. And a now definitive line on the clear and simple tests.
This feels like a good sign? I don't know. I am new at this. But I definitely "feel" pregnant this week, very sickly and tired!

What a wonderful thread! What did your DP say when you told him?!

What a wonderful thread! What did your DP say when you told him?!

Well, he just laughed and then started manically laughing and hugging me. He then went very serious, quite pale and just quietly said "I will need to get a new car"
A typical man reaction! Haha
I reassured him he can keep his fun car for a while as I am the one with the sensible car! But I still don't think it's sinking in for either of us. I have an early reassurance scan booked for Saturday which might just make it feel real thenSmile

Ahhhh that’s so great congratulations!! Sorry you’re feeling a bit crappy. It will pass! And as horrible as it is, it is a good sign that things are happening as they should be

So, a little update. I've been having right sided abdominal pain, just an ache since Friday, but with intermittent stabbing pains. Also have a dull ache down below as if I'm going to start my period. No bleeding at all but my lovely GP has referred me to EPAU for a scan at 9am tomorrow.
I'm really nervous. I know on one hand, at least I'll know for certain tomorrow if it's a genuine pregnancy or ectopic. But I just feel like all of this has been a little too good to be true, so a big part of me thinks it'll all end in disaster tomorrow. I'm also a little worried that due to really irregular periods I may not actually be far enough along to see anything?! But if I have enough HCG for a 3+ on a Clearblue at 4pm in the afternoon then surely there's enough to hopefully see even a little sac

Sorry, I'm rambling now xx

Trying to spend tonight just having a bath, unwinding from work and taking it easy.

Ah, it's so normal to feel period type cramps (the light version!) in a lot of the first trimester. If it was ectopic you'd typically have some spotting and slower growing HCG/ it plateaus - yours is looking good 🙂 I think the digitals are from conception, not LMP (which is how they'll date you) so 3+ would likely equal 5+ from Lmp if that makes sense. That would mean you'll see enough for them to know it's in the right place, but if you don't see a heartbeat don't panic, could very easily be too early.

Definitely take it easy, I've had successful, and non successful, pregnancies so I know the anxiety x

Have you got an update? Been thinking of you all morning!! Fingers crossed for you lovely xxx

ToGinOrNotToGin · 11/09/2024 14:29

Hello lovely ladies

I had the scan. They are currently saying I am around 5wks2 days pregnant. Which doesn't quite fit with my dates.

They saw what they think is a gestational sac, in my uterus, but no yolk sac or foetal pole. I have a cyst on my right ovary too. It's quite large and may be causing my pain.

Unable to rule out ectopic or rule in an IUP until that yolk sac is seen so feels like we are not much further forward yet.

Plan is. Rescan in 1 week, as they cannot rule out it being a pseudosac and ectopic at this stage.

They've taken bloods, more bloods Friday.

She said to not get my hopes up too much at this stage.

Straight back to work after my scan and just feeling very flat today. 7 days doesn't feel much for it to grow a yolk or a pole.

Any success stories of a little sac growing a yolk sac in 7 days? How long does it even take to grow a yolk sac?

ToGinOrNotToGin · 11/09/2024 15:16

HCG has come back at 6491. Which is high, given that nothing was seen in the sac.

It really depends how far along you actually are. Which is hard to know if you weren't tracking ovulation etc. If you are only 5 weeks ish then it's not unusual to see nothing in the sac. But I think in most cases you would see more by 6 weeks which is what they estimate you'll be in another week. If you're further along than 5 weeks already, or its the same next time then unfortunately it may not be a good sign and it might be a blighted ovum. I've had one myself as well as a missed miscarriage. In both cases at my early scan at 6/7 weeks it was obvious. The first i was 6.5 measuring 5.5 and 2 weeks later was exactly the same. With the second (current one) I was scanned at 7 weeks and only a sac visible. Rescan a week later still the same so I'm giving it 2 weeks to see if I miscarry naturally and if not I'll organise another surgery.

ToGinOrNotToGin · 15/09/2024 16:27

Well, rescan showed a yolk in one gestational sac and sadly an empty second sac. Big shock to find out I did have two sacs, but positive I've grown a yolk sac in 5 days!
Will find out more about the second smaller sac within a week, if that one hasn't grown any then they will say that one was an unsuccessful pregnancy.
So, mixed news but just so thankful my body seems to be doing the right thing so far and growing things in the right place.

Thank you all so so much for the support. It genuinely means so much to

Ahhh im so happy they saw something @ToGinOrNotToGin, praying for your second little sac, and glad you don’t have to wait toooooo long for the next scan

Elliesmumma · 15/09/2024 18:17

Well that explains the high HCG! Got fingers crossed for the second little sac, but super, super pleased about the yolk sac, that’s such positive news.

MrsPositivity1 · 15/09/2024 20:39

Ah fingers crossed. Such an emotional rollercoaster for you
