Transferring a question from another thread. I suspect I'm entering peri menopause as my cycle has been erratic since I turned 41 (42 now) Today is CD44. It's the longest I've ever gone without a period.
On CD 27, I got the weirdest, rubberiest ewcm, like a solid mass of it. My period date came and went. Today I started feeling a pain in my side like I was ovulating, and when I looked at my app, Today would have been ovulation day had I got my period 44 days ago.
I'd always believed that you could only ovulate once a cycle, the exception being double ovulation in the case of twins. However, new research is suggesting that women are able to ovulate more than once in a cycle, especially when they approaching menopause.
So, my question is whether it is possible to ovulate twice in one cycle, but it's as if it's a new cycle (absent period initating new cycle). Does that make sense?
