Chemical pregnancy?

Hi

I had a TFMR with our first baby in March of this year.

Yesterday (23/08 - 11DPO and 4 days before my period was due) I had 2 faint positive strip tests. Had lots of cramping on evening of 22/08 and on and off all day 23/08 and 24/08.

24/08 - I’ve done two more strip tests. Still positive but don’t think they’ve got any darker, if anything potentially a bit lighter?

I’ve attached photos of my tests in order that I’ve taken them.

So I’m thinking it’s probably going to be a chemical pregnancy. (Keeping everything crossed it’s not ectopic)

Just wondering what other peoples experiences were of chemical pregnancies? When did you start to bleed? How long were you bleeding for?

Thank you

12dpo is still very early OP!
With second son I had a BFN and at 14 dpo I had a glaringly BFP!
I'm sure I've read that levels double every 48 hours (may need to fact check this), so daily tracking isn't always that helpful!

Keep an eye on the cramps and try your best to not test every day as it can be so deflating so early on and it will be more indicative of you lapse a couple days in between.

May also be worth testing with a frer maybe when your period is due if it turns up?

I wouldn't worry too much at the moment mine were like this for a good 4-5 days because I tested everyday and drove myself mad. Now 20dpo and nice dark lines. It's easy to say don't test but we can't help it but I'd say test every 48 hours instead of everyday then you might notice a difference more.
Also sorry for your loss x

@hello33sunshine yeah I had the same with our TFMR baby. But my concern this time round is that the tests are getting lighter, if they were just staying the same I’d be a bit more optimistic but I do appreciate the positivity.

Just a waiting game!

@Anonaust I’ve looked at the tests from today in about 740 different lights and I’m convinced they’ve got slightly lighter 😫 did you think yours had got fainter as well?

It’s so hard not to test. In one way I want to keep testing because if my period is going to arrive I’d rather be prepared than it just come randomly. But then I know I’m also driving myself nuts with them! Every 48 hours might be a good compromise

Congrats on your positive x

Hi OP, I know it's so much easier said that done but you'll drive yourself mad testing constantly.
I never test before missing a period by a couple of days min for the exact reason that I don't want to pick up a chemical. I'd rather not know.
If you have to test early, I agree once every 48 hours could be a good compromise.
Good luck, you're still so early so could go either way

With my chemical, I always bled at 4-5 weeks. 6 weeks latest. It was a few days heavy.

But with my successful pregnancy my levels started off low, it was saying 1-2 weeks conceived at 6 weeks :/ I had cramping throughout with him. But he is here now and very much well.

So I've kind of gathered there is no certain way to know and miscarriage symptoms can be the same as a healthy pregnancy.
