Could this be implantation bleeding? TW - sensitive content

Hi,

Currently TTC. Last week, I found pink blood when I wiped so I put a pad in. It started around the same time as I was expecting AF anyway. I didn't have the usual cramps that I normally do to indicate that it was my period. The colour felt different and although it was more than just spotting, it felt lighter than a normal period.

I know people often mistake implantation bleeding for a period.

When I looked at the colour, the blood looks more pink and brown?!

Normally on my period I would fill pads up and the colour would be redder.

I've done 3 CB tests since. First one whilst I was still bleeding which came back with either a faint positive or an evap line....and I left it 3 days till after the bleeding had stopped till I tested again. They both came back negative this morning.

I'm so confused! Is there any advice for how many days should be left between possible implantation bleeding stopping and testing please?

I think it's two days at least after implantation that an ultra early test would show a squinter. The fact it showed up around the time your AF was due, and you had a faint line and now have no line, could suggest a chemical pregnancy x

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I'm just so unsure what's going on with my body atm!

Chemical pregnancy is a possibility - is the only way to check that by going to the doctor and having a blood test?

I did have some cramps particularly in my lower back whilst I was bleeding but nothing as aggressive as during my monthly period.

Time will tell I think...!

The only way to tell it's a chemical is to have a positive, bleed, and then a negative. If they did a blood test now it's unlikely there'd be any HCG left.

If you were pregnant with a viable pregnancy you would expect to see a positive pregnancy test now since you are past your expected period date.

Did you use the same type of pregnancy tests? Because some pregnancy tests are much more sensitive (I think around 10 MIU will show a positive at 8/9DPO, whereas a 25 MIU test will take longer to show.

Sorry you're having to deal with the uncertainty of it all x

Hmm it's just really aggravating not knowing what's going on!

I've only used standard CB tests so far and not sure what their MIU statistic is.

Is it worth testing using a different type of pregnancy test? If yes, which would you recommend please?

CB are renowned for evaps if the line appears outside of the time limit. I always used first response early result (FRER) or the easy@home early detection tests (the pink ones - you can get 20 tests for £8.49 on Amazon).

Both are pink dye tests which tend to be more reliable than blue dye, I don't know why! X
