How long after a CP should tests still be BFP

So I tested positive Thursday morning and started bleeding Thursday night, stopped bleeding yesterday afternoon and nothing since but my tests are still positive. Still very faint, is this normal?
I feel like I'm going insane, I just want to see a negative test now. At first I'd convinced myself there was line progression but I don't think that there is now. The doctor said they won't do anything unless I still positive when I would have been 6 weeks which is about the 7th August.
If I was still pregnant should the lines be getting darker? If it's CP should the lines be getting lighter? Am I being too hasty expecting a negative?

When I had a chemical, the lines were gone before I even started bleeding.

in April when I bled and I was still getting faint lines, I had an ectopic. The main thing with ectopics is lines which stay faint and abnormal bleeding. Sometimes you get cramps but not always, especially this early. Keep testing and keep an eye on it. I was also 6 weeks by the time they accepted seeing me, I then got medical management to resolve the ectopic before it ruptured thankfully.

Good luck xx

With my early MC (possibly slightly later than a CP, but I wasn't sure on dates as it was a surprise pregnancy), I continued getting lines, albeit fading slightly day by day, for 3 weeks.

I found out I was pregnant on the Saturday, started bleeding on the following Wednesday, had a scan (which showed no signs of pregnancy) and bloods the following Monday (EPU saw me as I was unsure of dates thus could have been 6 weeks), which were 43, dropped down to 27 two days later, but that last bit of HCG still took another couple of weeks to get too low to show up on tests.

Hugs - it's a horrible situation.

Ectopic is becoming my worry!
I found out I was pregnant Thursdays morning super super faint positive then a positive digital, started bleeding Thursday night, really heavy bright red blood which continued until yesterday afternoon. I've been testing morning and night but still just faint positives!
We're going on holiday on Friday and it's our first family holiday abroad and I'm so worried it's going to ruin our holiday 😭

It's so stressful isn't it!
I would have been 4 weeks 1 day when bleeding started so literally first day of my missed period, I've stopped bleeding now but my lines haven't really changed. It's hard to tell if they've changed from my first tests as they were a different brand and I binned them out of frustration on the Thursday night.
I'd imagine if I was still "pregnant" the lines would be a lot darker now as I've read HCG doubles every 24 hours and I would 4 weeks 5 days.
Its so hard to understand it all, I suppose there's probably no one size fits all for how it happens

HCG doubles every 48 hours, so it could just be that it hasn’t had chance to increase enough for the test yet - some people have lower HCG levels and still go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies and babies. It can also depend on your level of hydration, when you’re testing etc. My first cycle I had a positive but it was ectopic - my line was not faint it was a strong line, but the day after I tested positive I started having intense cramps in my groin, had a referral for my EPU and started MC almost a week later (expected management). If the bleeding has stopped and you’re still getting faint lines, it could be a better sign - sometimes bleeding does happen in early stages of pregnancy. Unfortunately I think the only thing for it is to test every 48 hours, and keep an eye on any more bleeding, any cramps in one side, and especially any cramps in your shoulder tip. Try and test using the same brand, same time of day, and same level of hydration/dehydration, so that line comparison is easier x

Thankyou for your advice I really appreciate it!
I've bought a large pack of boots own strip tests so I can keep testing with those and continue it. I didn't think about the levels of hydration, I'll take that into account going forward.
Thank you!!
