Ovulation tests question!

Hi guys, this is my first month tracking using ovulation tests. I started testing daily from 10dpo, getting faint lines everyday, darker yesterday and darker again today!
Today's is as dark as the control line, (yesterdays was almost as dark at 10am but lighter later in the day)

My question is, will I continue to test positive until ovulation happens? How often should I test once I see a positive test? Does a positive test mean I have already ovulated?

We haven't been able to BD in a couple of days because of busy schedules that seem to be clashing. I'm wondering if there is still time!

Apologies if this seems like a stupid question. I have asked google but it's not clear to me.

Any advice greatly appreciated 💛💛

I used the cheap strips at 2pm and 10pm and always caught the positive...
Hope that helps.

I think you've misunderstood what ovulation tests do - they don't/can't show you've ovulated, exactly. They test for Luteinizing hormone (LH) which peaks about 24 hours before ovulation - estimated though. So a positive (darkest line) test shows you will likely ovulate in the next day or so, and this is the best time to BD. once the tests go lighter again, LH has dropped and it's most likely you have ovulated already. best to BD regularly once the tests start to go darker, and keep going until tests are light / no line.

Thank you that helps. I did know it tested for the surge in LH but wasn't sure if the test would remain dark or drop off straight away. So I could still have 24-48hours. I will test again later today.

Since this is my first month it seems confusing to me but I'm sure il get the hang of it.
I'm hopeful we are both home this evening 🤞🏻 it's just been one of them months.

Thanks for the help 💛

It varies, some people will get a gradual increase and decrease, and some people will get a sudden peak (I did, I'd suddenly get a dark test, then next day would be totally blank test). Honestly I wouldn't focus on the tests too much - they can help but there's no exact science.

They'll only stay positive for a short time, LH surge is very short but will happen just before you ovulate. BD asap and as often as you can over the next 48h!

Ps I never got a very dark test, I think I just had a very short surge that I missed. I did get pregnant though so I must have ovulated!
