Low AMH, High FSH - looking at IVF

Hi All,

I’m 30, I’ve been TTC for 1.5 years with no luck, and was recently told I have AMH 5.6, Follicle Count 13 and TSH 12 and should start IVF as soon as possible. Husbands sperm test was healthy. I’ve started a supplement plan and I’m currently waiting for NHS funding approval.

I have no idea where this leaves me and the gravity of my results. I don’t know anyone in the same boat and I was wondering if anybody else had advice, or had been in a similar situation and how you navigated things / the outcome.

It’s been a while since I was in the world of IVF, but those results although aren’t ideal are certainly not awful (presume you mean FSH of 12?) Yes, you may have a lower number of eggs or need more medication to get them matured, but 13 is a good follicle count. And given your age then the chance of there being good quality eggs in there is very high.

Your levels are low for your age BUT because you are 30 your egg quality should still be very good.

i.e. even if they can only collect a few eggs your chances should be better than someone older with higher AMH/ lower FSH.
