I had my copper coil removed at the start of November 2023, so it’s now been 8/9 months of trying. I’m just feeling so deflated today, every negative test is just a punch in the stomach.

About 5 years ago, when I was on the pill, I had a few months without a period and a scan showed ovarian cysts, so was given a PCOS diagnosis. However since coming off the pill a couple years back, my periods have been like clockwork and I seem to ovulate at the correct times as well. I also had a recent scan which showed no more cysts and everything normal.

I just don’t know what else to try. I know the GP likes you to try for a year before testing starts. I guess I’m just venting and wondering if anybody has any success stories after trying for this long?

Thank you

Hey! Can I ask how your periods have been since. I had the copper coil for 12 years. Heavy periods for a week before, no change with it in. However now it’s out they have all but gone.
I had mine out at roughly the same time as you. X

Hey, my periods were so heavy and painful on the copper coil, since I’ve had it out they’ve been heavy for the first day and then manageable for around 4 days. Pretty much as soon as I had it out, they improved x
