Hi, I’m 2 DPO on cycle 1 TTC baby no 2. Anyone else want to join for some company? Already driving myself slightly mad 😜

Hi I am also 2dpo
Also TTC baby no 2
3rd cycle off the pill but 2nd cycle TTC
Last cycle was an absolute waste of time and effort
Fingers crossed for this one
I hate the TWW though 😩

GoldieMam · 13/06/2024 10:48

@ploo at least we’ll have some company! When will you test? I was so laid back last time, I think I tested on the day my period was due. I won’t last that long this time for sure!

How old is your LO? My little boy is turning 2 next month.

ploo · 13/06/2024 10:53

@GoldieMam yes I was so pleased to see you started a thread 😊
I definitely was not laid back last time. I was testing from 8dpo 🤣 got my BFP on 10dpo
Sworn to myself that I would chill out this time but I just can't haha I will probably test 10dpo as it's unlikely to get a BFP earlier than that and is just going to cause anxiety for no reason
My little boy turned 3 last month

GoldieMam · 13/06/2024 10:58

Ah lovely, that will be such a nice gap.

Yep, I will try and hold out for 10 dpo but will probably cave at 9 dpo!

ploo · 13/06/2024 11:01

I'm not too sure about the age gap. Kind of wish we tried sooner but on the plus side DS will be in school when I'm on maternity leave

Same here, probably test next Thursday.
How long did it take you to conceive your little boy?

GoldieMam · 13/06/2024 11:04

I think it’ll be really nice, he’ll be a bit more independent and (hopefully) keen to help you with baby!

We were really lucky and conceived first cycle. I think that’s why I feel anxious this time around, I feel like we won’t find it as easy this time. How about you?

OP posts:
ploo · 13/06/2024 11:19

Yeah that's true. He keeps asking for a little brother 🄺

Ahh wow that's really good! Fingers crossed it's the same for you this time round!
We conceived 2nd cycle. My first cycle after stopping the pill last time I had a short luteal phase.
I think I had a short luteal phase last cycle too but didn't do any ovulation testing. Was just going off symptoms like EWCM and ovulation pains. Going off that, my luteal phase was 8 days šŸ™ˆ decided to do ovulation tests this cycle to see what was going on. Have you been doing ovulation tests or just going with the flow?

GoldieMam · 13/06/2024 11:26

That’s so sweet! My LO is too young to get it yet but he is very interested in babies so I’m taking that as a good sign.

I’ve been tracking BBT using natural cycles and also using OPKs. Mainly because this is my first cycle for a long time so just to get an idea what’s going on!

OP posts:
ploo · 13/06/2024 11:54

Ahhh yeah definitely a good sign! Coming up to 2 was my favourite age so far, so cute and they develop so quickly before you even have chance to blink!

Were you on contraception before? Is that why you've not had a cycle for a long time?

GoldieMam · 13/06/2024 12:00

Yeah, it’s a lovely age! He’s hilarious and starting to be able to play a bit independently which is nice.

I was breastfeeding DS which stopped my periods and then had the mirena coil which I just got removed last month. Hopefully it hasn’t messed up my cycles too much!

HRHXO · 13/06/2024 12:19

I'm 5dpo so a little further along but this is also cycle 1 ttc baby no2 and my DS is 2 in August so quite similar! I think I'll probably test 9dpo which is Monday but I usually like to wait until 10 or 11dpo, I'm just dead eager this month for some reason lol x

GoldieMam · 13/06/2024 12:29

@HRHXO welcome! Ah lovely, how do you think your DS will be with a younger sibling? Eeek Monday is so soon, how exciting! Will you guys use first response type tests? I just used a CB last time but I know they’re not the most reliable!

OP posts:
HRHXO · 13/06/2024 13:27

@GoldieMam I keep asking DS if he wants a baby brother or sister and he says no šŸ˜‚ but he loves his cousins and other children so I think he will enjoy it once a baby is here lol. I plan to use a cheapie easy@home test and maybe a boots early test too. I have a CB digi and CB blue dye but they're not as sensitive so I'll wait to use those.

ploo · 13/06/2024 13:33

@HRHXO ahh how nice that there's a few of us in the same boat (or similar)

I plan on using cheapies and then will confirm with an FRER. That's what I did last time I conceived anyway and then did the digital test to see it in writing!

GoldieMam · 13/06/2024 14:39

I only have one easy@home test so going to have to order some more but will wait until the weekend to order them to avoid temptation!!

OP posts:
ploo · 13/06/2024 21:32

Ahh I've got quite a few that I bought last month which isn't going to help 😬
I'm driving myself mad already googling stuff šŸ™„ I need to do something to pass the time in the evenings

ploo · 17/06/2024 21:27

How are you both holding up?

GoldieMam · 18/06/2024 07:56

I’m okay thanks, felt very stressey yesterday (like PMS) so wondering whether that’s me out this month. I’m feeling quite nauseated most mornings and some evenings but at 7 dpo it’s too early to be related so maybe I’m just loosing my sanity šŸ˜… how are you?

OP posts:
ploo · 18/06/2024 20:13

Ahh it's hard isn't it in the TWW wondering what signs/symptoms we can go off. Hopefully the nausea is definitely a good sign for you!!
I'm ok thanks. Keep getting this feeling at the bottom of my belly almost like an uncomfortable pressure feeling and some shooting pains but could be anything. I had cramps/twinges a few days before AF came last cycle so I'm just trying not to symptom spot too much. Are you still going to test on Thursday?

ploo · 19/06/2024 06:14

I'm out. 8dpo again 😢

GoldieMam · 19/06/2024 06:22

@ploo oh no, so sorry! Were you due on today?

OP posts:
ploo · 19/06/2024 06:53

I'm not sure. My cycle last month was 24 days. I got to 25 days this time. Premom says I wasn't due until the 25th but think it calculated that 14 days after ovulating

GoldieMam · 19/06/2024 07:04

@ploo that must be frustrating for you. I’m sure you already know but I hear of people taking supplements to extend their luteal phase and they seem effective!

OP posts:
ploo · 19/06/2024 07:11

Yeah last time when TTC DS I took b6. I've not been able to take that this time until the day after ovulating because I couldn't get hold of any so maybe a full cycle of taking that will help. At least I'm onto the next cycle now though

ploo · 24/06/2024 20:43

@GoldieMam how are you getting on?
